The first Christmas Card for Domestic abuse victims is very good and were anyone to have a better quality image or indeed the full card I’d love to post it.
We also have a card from the Orange Order and one of Marx with a Santa hat.
Another series of posters (other bunch here) from Militant, The Socialist Party and Young Socialists that I was sent recently. Most if not all are for Rally’s in Belfast.
Amongst the subjects covered are The Miners Strike, Apartheid , Trotsky and the Poll Tax.
Alas the quality and size are poor but they may well be of interest none the less .
From the 2007 General Election a flyer from Fianna Fails Micheál Martin running in Cork South Central. The Flyer has the catchy slogan ‘Securing Cork’s Future’. Michael Martin was elected easily topping the poll with well over a quota.
From the 1985 Local Elections a personal letter from Liam Kavanagh Minister for the Environment to the Voters of Bray.
In it he mentions money being provided for amongst other projects the Bray/Shankill By-Pass. Reading it reminded me of those horrendous tailbacks at Shankill and Little Bray.
For the Council the Labour candidates were John Byrne, Barbara Hyland (who later stood as an Independent) and Nancy Mahony running for Wicklow County Council and Paddy Mooney and Siobhan Turner joining them on the ticket for the elections to Bray UDC.

I’m not sure who was behind Ireland For Life.
From Bertie and Cyprian a Christmas card with the message
“Thank You and Best Wishes for Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year” – ‘From Your Local TDs -Fianna Fail’.
Inside we’ve a garish picture of Bertie and one of Cyprian also. We get to read about all the good news in Dublin Central over the past year.
At the back is a lovely picture of St Lukes with details of Clinic Times and contact details.

Its the first bit of election material I’ve seen referring to the United Left Alliance.

From the 2007 General election a flyer for Fianna Fails Noel Dempsey running in Meath West.
Dempsey topped the poll and was elected on the first count.

Its an interesting idea of the Peoples Convention.

From the 1997 General Election a flyer from Fianna Fails Sean Haughey running in Dublin North Central where he was elected.
It has the lovely slogan “Get Things Moving- with Sean Haughey”.
From the 2002 General Election ads for Independent candidate Dana Rosemary Scallon running in Galway West.
Having polled well in the 1997 Presidential Election and been elected to the European Parliament in 1999, Dana was expected to poll well. However she polled just 1,677 votes in this 2002 election and failed to win a seat.
From the 1983 Abortion Referendum some ads for a Yes Vote. The main Slogan being “You Will Never Get This Chance Again…” .
Little did they know…..
The referendum was Passed.

From Fine Gael a leaflet from early 2008, on Fianna Fails neglect of Shannon Airport. They also have the Government supporting Michael Lowry down as someone to blame too.
The winter 2010 newsletter of Fianna Fail Dublin South West TD Conor Lenihan. He’s pictured on the front with a horse at the Fettercairn Horse Project.
He is pictured elsewhere in the newsletter with Schoolchildren, business people and others and its packed with local news.
