From the 2004 European Elections a leaflet from Dana Rosemary Scallon who was running in Ireland North West. Having surprised many by being elected in 1999, she lost her seat in this election, despite polling 56,992 votes.

From the 2011 Presidential Election a Leaflet from Dana Rosemary Scallon “Putting Ireland first- a President you can trust”.
I was given it this evening whilst walking past the Central Bank where Dana must have been visiting the Occupy Dame Street camp.

Dana Rosemary Scallon -Independent- 2002 General Election -Galway West December 18, 2010

From the 2002 General Election ads for Independent candidate Dana Rosemary Scallon running in Galway West.
Having polled well in the 1997 Presidential Election and been elected to the European Parliament in 1999, Dana was expected to poll well. However she polled just 1,677 votes in this 2002 election and failed to win a seat.

‘Dana’ Rosemary Scallon – 1997 Presidential Election Leaflet October 12, 2009

The 1997 Presidential Election was Dana’s first election. She finished third polling over 175,000 first preferences. Encouraged by that performance she was elected an MEP for Connaught-Ulster in 1999. She then contested Galway West in 2002 but fared badly. In 2004 she lost her European Parliament seat being eliminated before the final count.
She didn’t actually say much on this leaflet, although voters would have known her conservative views.
