From the September 1927 General Election a leaflet from Fianna Fail attacking Cumann na nGaedhael over their candidacy of Major Bryan Cooper. Cooper was a former Unionist MP who having been elected to the Dail in 1923 and June 1927 joined Cumann na nGaedhael and stood for them in this September 1927 Election. More info on him here

Ailtirí na hAiséirghe “Principal Points of Policy” from the 1943 General Election January 28, 2012


From the 1943 General Election a leaflet from Ailtirí na hAiséirghe outlining their “Principal Points of Policy”.
The candidate Eoin O’ Coiglig (Owen Quigley) was running in Louth. A former Labour Party councillor he joined Ailtirí na hAiséirghe after their foundation, he polled 585 votes.
He was reelected to Drogheda Corporation and Louth County Council in 1945.

Sheila Casey -Fine Gael -1999 Local Elections -Killarney January 23, 2012


From the 1999 Local Elections in Killarney a leaflet from Fine Gael candidate Sheila Casey. Also mentioned are her running mates Alan O’Sullivan and Tadhg O’Sullivan as well as John Cushnahan and Jim Corr who were running for Europe.
She was elected and in 2003 became the first woman to be Mayor of Killarney.

From the 1943 General Election a leaflet from Ailtirí na hAiséirghe candidate Eoin O’ Coiglig (Owen Quigley) running in Louth. A former Labour Party councillor he joined Ailtirí na hAiséirghe after their foundation, he polled 585 votes.

From 1981 an attempt by Fianna Fail to attract the Youth Vote.
I love the young man asking “When we come to buy a house what chance have we got?” only to be answered by none other than Ray Burke , who was an expert in the matter of housing and planning.

With a striking image and the famous quote “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why are they poor, they call me a Communist.” from Archbishop Camara, this leaflet from Emmet Stagg asks “By working together, socialist and christian activists can radically change the nature of politics in Ireland”.
I don’t know if anything came from this Christian Socialist message which I think was from the 1989 General Election campaign.
