“He Cannot Change His Spots” – “Vote No To Gerry Adams” February 21, 2011
More anti Gerry Adams material from Louth…
The sender notes
a poster printed by John V. Lennon one of Cork’s
most notorious eccentrics, who has a long history in political life
and public speaking, He was involved in campaigning for Michael D.
Higgins in the early days, both having gone to UCG. You are also
probably familiar with Bernie Murphy getting elected to Cork City
Council, which Lennon orchestrated. This week Lennon is going to Louth
to speak against Gerry Adams running for election, he is going to put
these posters up around the place as part of it. He spoke against
Adams before in UCC Philosophical Society in 1984 after which Adams
refused to shake his hand, which was a novel change. Lennon won the
debate in question by over 300 votes to 5.
“ABA -Anybody But Adams -Jean or Gerry the choice is yours!” -Leaflet from Louth 2011 General election February 20, 2011
There had been rumours that one of the late Jean McConnvilles family would stand in Louth against Gerry Adams. That didn’t happen, instead there was an ‘Anybody But Adams’ campaign involving the family.
This flyer was distributed in Louth over the election campaign.
Many thanks to the sender

Was sent these images, alas the sender does not have better quality images or the inside pages of the cards.
The first Christmas Card for Domestic abuse victims is very good and were anyone to have a better quality image or indeed the full card I’d love to post it.
We also have a card from the Orange Order and one of Marx with a Santa hat.

“Free All Irish Political Prisoners” Poster with Karl Marx and James Connolly December 1, 2010
A “Free All Irish Political Prisoners” Poster with Karl Marx and (I presume) James Connolly. It was hiding in a friends uncles garage in Germany until recently.
A comment below gives a little history to the poster.
The poster was produced by the Prisoners Aid Committee in the early 70′s. The PAC was based in London and was originally set up in 1972 by Official Sinn Fein to campaign for IRA prisoners. The poster is a reminder that Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels had campaigned for Republican prisoners. The PAC designed and paid for the posters which were widely distibuted. By the end of 1974 all members of the PAC had been expelled from the British branch of the stickies, Clann na h’Eireann but the PAC continued to campaign for all Republican prisoners in English jails until the end of the 80′s.

In a time of bad publicity for Fianna Fail, a 2007 Election Podcast that looks at Peace in Northern Ireland.
Amongst those featured are Tony Blair, Bill Clinton, and Bertie…
I think it was also a party political broadcast.
