‘Towards Good Government’ (aka No Terrorists in Government) -TUV Election Newsletter 2010

From Jim Allisters Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) a leaflet entitled ‘Towards Good Government’ , which translates as No Terrorists in Government. The other theme ‘aren’t the DUP delighted with themselves being in Office with Sinn Fein’.
I got sent this (many thanks) and whilst its full of words it’s the pictures that tell the story.
We have Ian Paisley snr whispering into the ears of an amused Martin McGuinness. Peter Robinson laughing with Martin McGuinness.
Jeffrey Donaldson having a laugh with Gerry Kelly. Ian Paisley Junior with both Kelly and McGuinness. The best though must be Ian Paisley Junior ‘joyriding’
with ‘convicted terrorist’ Conor Murphy.
Finally we have pictures of Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness, Adams with Alex Maskey up against Riot Police (not unlike Unionists at Drumcree) and Martin McGuinness at an Republican Funeral.

Ian Paisley Junior Election Leaflet that the TUVs Jim Allister tried to get banned April 14, 2010

This is the Ian Paisley Junior Election Leaflet that the TUVs Jim Allister tried to ban. Many thanks to the person that forwarded it on to me.
Jim Allister took Ian Paisley Jnr to court over the attacks on Allister in the leaflet.
It appears Allister took offence at the reference to legal aid fees earned whilst serving as an MEP.
and then Paisley Junior after all the allegations writes…
I have no intention of engaging in the personal petty childish and hateful politics in which Jim Allister wants to frame this election.
Looking at this TUV Leaflet it appears the fight will be dirty.

1985 Fine Gael Ard Fheis -Discussion Paper on Public Service (Public Sector Reform)

From the 1985 Fine Gael Ard Fheis, held in Cork, a Discussion Paper on ‘Public Service’. It looks like an attempt at what is now a buzzword 25 years later, Public Sector reform.
The paper was divided into three main areas
-The development and management of the public service.
-Public service employment
-Public service pay

Included are measures to reduce public service numbers by 5000 by 1987, some items on how the public service
deal with new technology,Staff development, a unit to design forms, promotion, Appointment schemes, Staff Exchanges and performance Appraisals.

It would be interesting to see what has been carried out.
