From the 1973 General Election Campaign a leaflet from The League for a Workers’ Republic -Young Socialists with the headline “Fianna Fail Out!” and urging voters to vote for Labour to encourage the likes of Matt Merrigan and Noel Browne to pursue Socialist Policies in government. From the 2007 Seanad Elections, Former head of the TUI Paddy Healy who is currently chair of the National Public Services Alliance.
He has a long history of involvement with the Left and was a founding member of the League for a Workers’ Republic. He stood a number of Times for the Dail in Dublin North East, in 1981 he ran on a H Block ticket but was never elected to the Dail.
His Brother, Seamus Healy of the Clonmel based Workers and Unemployed Group (WUAG) spent between 2000 and 2007 in the Dail and is tipped by many for a return at the next election.
