2009 Frontline Alliance leaflet – “Save Our Frontline Services …Before You Feel the CUTS” June 9, 2010
A 2009 leaflet produced by the Frontline Alliance against the cuts.
From their Website….
The 24/7 Frontline Alliance represents workers, including gardai, nurses, fire fighters, prison officers and ambulance personnel, who deliver emergency and other vital services to the public, often at considerable risk to themselves. It is committed to protecting its members’ interests and the services they provide to the public.
There are six affiliated unions and staff associations. They are: the Association of Garda Sergeants and Inspectors, the Garda Representative Association, the Irish Nurses Organisation, the Prison Officers Association, the Psychiatric Nurses Association and SIPTU.
Garda Representative Association (GRA) Questionnaire regarding Industrial Action 2010 May 18, 2010
From February 2010 a Questionnaire from the Garda Representative Association to members. Note how it is not called a Ballot (Is that because it’s not a Union?).
Its multiple choice too.
The Section 59 of the Garda Siochana Act 2005 refered to states that a person is guilty of an offence if he or she induces, or does any act calculated to induce, any member of the Garda Siochana to withhold his or her services or to commit a breach of discipline.
There is also a receipt to be signed of the questionnaire and that was to be put in an envelope and the lot sent off to an accountants office.
1985 Fine Gael Ard Fheis -Discussion Paper on Public Service (Public Sector Reform) April 12, 2010
From the 1985 Fine Gael Ard Fheis, held in Cork, a Discussion Paper on ‘Public Service’. It looks like an attempt at what is now a buzzword 25 years later, Public Sector reform.
The paper was divided into three main areas
-The development and management of the public service.
-Public service employment
-Public service pay
Included are measures to reduce public service numbers by 5000 by 1987, some items on how the public service
deal with new technology,Staff development, a unit to design forms, promotion, Appointment schemes, Staff Exchanges and performance Appraisals.
