From the 1973 Assembly Election Campaign “Save Northern Ireland From A United Ireland” a message from Ian Paisley urging voters to vote for The Ulster Democratic Unionist Party in association with a group called the Loyalist Coalition. It also asks for contributions to the Party.

From the 2017 Assembly Elections a leaflet from George Robinson, Adrian McQuillan and Maurice Bradley who are running for The DUP in East Derry (East Londonderry)
Many thanks to the sender.
1986 North Antrim By-Election leaflet from Ian Paisley -DUP February 10, 2017
From the 1986 North Antrim By-Election a leaflet from Ian Paisley of the DUP. Paisley won 97.4% of the vote!
It was one of the fifteen 1986 Northern Ireland by-elections held on 23 January 1986, to fill vacancies in the Parliament of the United Kingdom caused by the resignation in December 1985 of all sitting Unionist Members of Parliament (MPs). The MPs, from the Ulster Unionist Party, Democratic Unionist Party and Ulster Popular Unionist Party, did this to highlight their opposition to the Anglo-Irish Agreement. Each of their parties agreed not to contest seats previously held by the others, and each outgoing MP stood for re-election.
Another batch of Anti Sinn Fein Posters/ Cartoons from the DUP produced in the mid 1990’s.
Another selection of them here
“Save Ulster with the Ulster Democratic Unionist Association” Leaflet ..from the early 80s? November 30, 2011
Got this recently , a leaflet from the ‘Ulster Democratic Unionist Association Co. Londonderry’, outlining their aims and objectives. I think its from the early 80s but can’t be sure. I can’t find anything online about them. I presume that they were linked to the Democratic Unionist Party.
If anyone has any details of the group I’d love to know.
DUP newspaper “Protestant Telegraph” from September 1981 June 22, 2011
A September 1981 copy of Protestant Telegraph a newspaper of the Democratic Unionist Party. The cover story deals with the murder of two RUC members, inside we have articles praising the use of plastic bullets, the link between the IRA and European Communists, a short history of The DUP. Amongst other items there are articles on Sunday trading and articles critical of goings on in other (Non Free Presbyterian) Protestant Faiths.
Apologies for not being in a position to make a *.pdf of the paper.
Unionist Solidarity Posters (‘Ulster Says No’, ‘No Dublin Rule’, ‘Save The Union’) from the 1986 By-Elections in protest at the Anglo Irish Agreement. June 7, 2011
In the uproar that followed the Anglo Irish Agreement there were mass protests against it, now remembered for the “Ulster Says No” banners and Ian Paiselys “Never , Never, Never “. (A youtube clip of the speech below)
What is often forgotten is that in protest, Unionist MPs resigned their seats en masse. There were subsequently Unionist Solidarity candidates put up for the 15 By-Elections that followed on the 23rd of January 1986. Details of the by-elections can be found here
The Unionist Solidarity posters were modeled on the Polish solidarity, which must have been a deliberate affront at nationalists given the association the then Pope John Paul II had with Solidarity in Poland.
In the end Unionists lost one seat with the UUPs Jim Nicholson losing to Seamus Mallon of the SDLP in Newry and Armagh.
Many thanks to the sender.
A “Vote Paisley” Sticker -Ian Paisley -DUP June 3, 2011
Pictured with Ian Paisley are the DUP Assembly Election candidates for North Antrim, Paul Frew, Mervyn Storey, Evelyne Robinson and David McIlveen. On the reverse its interesting to see the vote management strategy which encouraged voters in certain areas to vote 1,2,3,4 in different orders.
Many thanks to the sender.
From the 1998 Good Friday Agreement campaign a DUP (or Ulster Democratic Unionist Party as the good Doctor refers to them in his message) leaflet urging voters to vote No to the Agreement.
‘The Pan Nationalist Front wants a ‘Yes’ vote to wreck the Union.’
Worthwhile reading all the objections and then seeing how much progress has been made in the last 12 years.
Ian Paisley concludes his ‘Dear Friend and Voter’ message with..
“The Agreement is a staging post to a united Ireland and has come about by abject surrender to IRA/Sinn Fein.
A “Yes” vote is a vote which the enemies of our Province and those who have surrendered to them are calling for.
You have the opportunity to save Ulster for the Union and for your offspring by voting “No”.
• A “No” vote means a positive and decisive blow struck at the heart of Ulster’s enemies.
• A “No” vote will block the slide to increased and eventual total Dublin rule.
• A “No” vote will save the RUC from destruction.
• A “No” vote will keep Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness out of any future government of Northern Ireland, and
• A “No” vote will demonstrate the determination of the Ulster people not to be bombed into Dublin rule by terrorist gangsters.
Stand up for Ulster! Stand up for your children and your heritage! Stand up for your children and your children’s children! Let the world know that the Ulster people will not be bullied, bribed or butchered into accepting fascist rule. It is suicidal to do otherwise. Your Friend and European Member of Parliament. For God and Ulster …”
Ian McCrae -DUP -Mid Ulster -2010 UK Election May 9, 2010
From the 2010 UK Election, a leaflet from DUP candidate Ian McCrae running in Mid Ulster. He polled 5,876 votes.
McCrae is an MLA and also is the son of DUP MP Willie McCrea.
From the 2010 UK Election, the standard leaflet from DUP Leader Peter Robinson. Peter Robinson sensationally lost his seat to Naomi Long of the Alliance Party.
He is here pictured with Obama, with British soldiers serving in the Middle East, in the House of Commons but most strikingly hes pictured hard hat on a building site.
If one didn’t know better you’d think he it was with a group of smiling developers.
The Picture beside it is in my view foolish also as it pictures him beside a £ sign!
In fact that page has him in the House of commons first, then with developers and then beside the pound sign. Underneath we have the arrow!
So it could be seen as…. expenses + land deals = cash
‘Towards Good Government’ (aka No Terrorists in Government) -TUV Election Newsletter 2010 April 16, 2010
From Jim Allisters Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) a leaflet entitled ‘Towards Good Government’ , which translates as No Terrorists in Government. The other theme ‘aren’t the DUP delighted with themselves being in Office with Sinn Fein’.
I got sent this (many thanks) and whilst its full of words it’s the pictures that tell the story.
We have Ian Paisley snr whispering into the ears of an amused Martin McGuinness. Peter Robinson laughing with Martin McGuinness.
Jeffrey Donaldson having a laugh with Gerry Kelly. Ian Paisley Junior with both Kelly and McGuinness. The best though must be Ian Paisley Junior ‘joyriding’
with ‘convicted terrorist’ Conor Murphy.
Finally we have pictures of Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness, Adams with Alex Maskey up against Riot Police (not unlike Unionists at Drumcree) and Martin McGuinness at an Republican Funeral.
This is the Ian Paisley Junior Election Leaflet that the TUVs Jim Allister tried to ban. Many thanks to the person that forwarded it on to me.
Jim Allister took Ian Paisley Jnr to court over the attacks on Allister in the leaflet.
It appears Allister took offence at the reference to legal aid fees earned whilst serving as an MEP.
and then Paisley Junior after all the allegations writes…
“I have no intention of engaging in the personal petty childish and hateful politics in which Jim Allister wants to frame this election.”
Looking at this TUV Leaflet it appears the fight will be dirty.
