Manchester Connolly Association- 1965 Poster for Easter Commemoration Meeting and Parade April 13, 2010


From 1965 a Poster from The Manchester Connolly Association advertising an Easter Commemoration, Meeting and Parade.
The Connolly Association, were the Irish Communist grouping in Britain. Originally called The Connolly Club.
This article on Manchester’s Radical History provides good background. Both Danny Kilcommins and Tommy Watters , speakers at the event are mentioned.
I’m not sure if the Tom Redmond mentioned is the Tom Redmond who was a member of the Irish Workers League and editor of Socialist Voice.

 

Terry Kelleher -Socialist Party -2009 LE Balbriggan April 6, 2010


From the 2009 Local Elections in Balbriggan, a leaflet from Socialist Party candidate Terry Kelleher.
Terry Kelleher was running for both Fingal County Council and Balbriggan Town Council. He was elected to Balbriggan Town Council.
He is pictured here with Cllr Clare Daly.

 

 

Gino Kenny -People Before Profit -2007 GE Dublin Mid West March 18, 2010


From the 2007 General election in Dublin Mid West, People Before Profit candidate Gino Kenny. Gino Kenny polled over 1000 votes and was elected to South Dublin County Council in 2009 for the Clondalkin LEA.

Socialist Labour Party flyer March 15, 2010


A simple flyer from Noel Brownes Socialist Labour Party that was sent to me.

The Socialist Labour Party was short-lived, having been co-founded in 1977 by Noel Browne and Matt Merrigan (who both had been thrown out of the Labour Party). It finally disbanded just five years later in 1982.
