Amongst other things Mitchell writes “As President I would put the welfare of our people at the heart of the Presidency.”

From the 1948 General Election Campaign an ad taken out by Clann na Poblachta to refute allegations that there were Communists in the party. Not alone that but to also to refute allegations of them trying to “..usurp .. the functions of the Catholic Church.”

From the 2009 Local Elections a flyer from Fine Gael candidate James O’Sullivan. O’Sullivan was running for a seat on Greystones Town Council.

From the 1951 General Election a Labour Party leaflet urging voters to
“Keep Fianna Fail away from your Pay Packets!” by voting Labour.

“You can trust Eoin Ryan in Europe” -Eoin Ryan -Fianna Fail -2009 European Elections August 6, 2011
From the 2009 European Elections in Dublin, a flyer from outgoing Fianna Fail MEP Eoin Ryan. Previously a Councillor, Senator and TD, Ryan was elected as an MEP in 2004.
In this 2009 Election he lost his seat.

Evelyn Cawley -Independent -Wicklow 2007 General Election August 5, 2011
From the 2007 General Election Campaign a leaflet from Evelyn Cawley an Independent running in Wicklow. Active locally, the Greystones based Cawley was seen as an outside chance of a seat. On the day she polled 2,246 votes and finished down the field.

A card with “Useful Numbers” from Sinn Fein MLA Sue Ramsey and Councillor Matt Garrett from Sinn Fein in Upper Falls West Belfast. It was delivered during the 2011 Asssembly Elections and Local Elections Campaigns.

Ad for Kieran Doherty -H-Block -Cavan Monaghan 1981 General Election August 2, 2011
From the 1981 General Election an ad for H-Block candidate Hunger Striker Kieran Doherty who was running in Cavan Monaghan. Doherty polled 9,121 votes and was elected. Another H-Block candidate Paddy Agnew was elected in Louth.
After 73 days on Hunger Strike, Doherty died on the 2nd of August 1981.

From the 2007 General Election a leaflet from the Pat Rabbitte led Labour Party “Anti Social Behaviour -Labour Listened…. now we will act” . On the reverse we learn of a poll taken by members of the Labour Party Nationwide on Anti Social Behaviour.
“No To EEC” – ITGWU 1972 Referendum on Entry to the EEC August 1, 2011
From the 1972 Referendum on Entry to the EEC a leaflet from the Irish Transport and General Workers Union urging a No vote in the referendum. It foresaw entry to the EEC as leading to job losses.

Flyer from John Ryan -Democratic Left -1998 Limerick East By-Election July 31, 2011
From the 1998 Limerick East By-Election a flyer from Democratic Left candidate John Ryan. It (and the Dublin North by Election held on the same day) was the last election fought by the Democratic Left before their merger with the Labour Party.
John Ryan polled 3,868 votes.

From the 2009 Local Elections a flyer from Sinn Fein candidate Tom Collopy who was running in the Limerick East Ward. Collopy polled 304 votes and failed to win a seat.

From the 2009 Local Elections for Limerick City Council a leaflet from Fine Gael candidate Denis McCarthy running in the Limerick East Ward with “A message to all my supporters from Michael Noonan TD”. McCarthy polled 562 votes and was elected.
