Found this whilst searching for something else. Its from SPUC in the UK who want to “Protect children against TV condom adverts”.
I presume they are not advertised on TV in Ireland yet.

“Pheww! That was close! ..” Anti Levonelle Leaflet from the Christian Solidarity Party in 2003 September 9, 2010


From 2003 A leaflet issued by the Christian Solidarity Party against the availability of Levonelle. Levonelle is a morning after pill that works up to 72 hours after intercourse.
There were arguments about if it was covered or not by the various Abortion Referenda. Where it was seen by many as a contraceptive it was thought of by Pro Life lobby as an ‘Abortion Pill’.

Pro Life Campaign -Vote Yes -2002 Abortion Referendum July 18, 2010


From the 2002 Abortion ( Right to Life) Referendum a leaflet from the Pro Life Campaign. The Referendum proposal was defeated by the votes of those more pro choice than the Pro Life Campaign and the more extreme anti abortion campaigners.
Interesting to note that former Libertas candidate Caroline Simons was the Pro Life Campaigns ‘Legal Consultant‘.

Youth Defence Membership leaflet from 2004 June 9, 2010


From around 2004 a membership leaflet from ‘Ireland’s only pro-life organisation for young people‘ Youth Defence.
According to the leaflet they have attracted more than 5000 members. There are commendations of Youth Defence (or YD) from amongst others The Evening Herald and Pope John Paul II.
It explains ‘What is YD?’ , ‘What Does YD Do‘ and ‘Why Get Involved?

Niamh Nic Mhathúna and Justin Barrett are amongst those Youth Defence members that have stood for election.

Dublin Abortion Information Campaign Leaflet -1992 Referendum on Abortion, Travel and Information May 19, 2010


From the 1992 Abortion Referendum a leaflet produced by the Dublin Abortion Information Campaign.
The referendum took place in the aftermath of the X Case. The Leaflet is advertising a Rally and also asking voters to..

VOTE NO to this attempt to reverse the Supreme Court ruling. It allowed a 14-year old girl, pregnant by a rapist, the right to have an abortion rather than face suicide.
The proposed wording would condemn some women to death.
VOTE YES to the right to travel for abortion. 5,000 13TH do each year, but at present they can be stopped.
VOTE YES to allow women information on abortion, and counselling on all the options in a crisis pregnancy.

Stephen Price -Independent -1992 GE Westmeath April 7, 2010


From the 1992 General Election in Westmeath, Independent candidate Stephen Price.
An Abortion Referendum (Right to Travel , information etc) was held on the same day which led to quite a number of pro-life Independent candidates.
This in part due to Fianna Fail , which had been previously seen as Pro-Life falling out of step with SPUC and others. This in turn led to the setting up of
a number of Parties such as The Christian Principles Party, Christian Solidarity Party and The National Party.
Stephen Price polled 747 votes.

Pro Life Campaign Leaflet -1992 Abortion Referendum January 25, 2010


The 1992 abortion referendum had 3 separate ballots.
The first regarded Abortion itself. Which was defeated through a mix of people who felt it went too far and others who felt it didn’t go far enough.
The Second was to do with the Right To Travel. It was passed.
The Third was to do with the Right to Information. It was also passed.
The Referendum arose in essence from issues surrounding the ‘X’ case.

Niamh Nic Mhathúna (now Ui Bhriain) -Independent-Pro Life -1992 Dublin Central (leaflet 2) December 7, 2009


Dublin Central 1992 leaflet of Niamh Nic Mhathúna, involved in Youth Defence, daughter of Una Bean nic Mhathuna of “G’way ye wife-swapping sodomites’ fame. I gather she was involved in Coir too.
As the General Election was being held on the same day as the Abortion Referendum a higher than usual number of pro-life independents stood. Not many fared well. Niamh Nic Mhathúna polled 514 votes.

Martin Hogan -‘Pro Life Man’-1992 Longford-Roscommon November 11, 2009


The 1992 General election was held on the same day as the Abortion Referenda on The Right to Life, The right to travel and The right to information.
A lot of pro life candidates stood as for the first time Fianna Fail were seen by many as no longer 100% Anti Abortion.
It was the aftermath of the ‘X Case’ and later this Referendum that led to the formation of the likes of the Christian Principles Party, The National Party,
The Christian Solidarity Party, The Christian Centreist Party and Muintir Na hEireann.
Martin Hogan Polled just 459 votes.

Colm Callanan who stood in Laois-Offaly and Longford-Westmeath in the 2007 GE and also in 10 different LEAs in the 2009 local elections….

Its nice to put a face to a name.
Colm only wants your Number 1 votes (“…a No 2 vote, regrettably, is of little use to me”).
Colm promises “…to take action on … homosexual adoption, increasing levels of porn in newsagents, sexual innuendo in TV ads, etc”

Michael Quinn -‘Independent For Life ‘-Dun Laoghaire 1992 October 16, 2009


Michael Quinn was a pro- life Independent who later ran for the National Party. He polled over 1700 first preferences in the Dun Laoghaire 92 election.
He later became involved with the Democratic Right Movement.
