Two posters, one in English , one in Irish advertising a fundraising gig for Joe Higgins European Election Campaign in Dingle. The gig featured Fergus O’Flaherty, Tom Lynch and Friends.
Joe a native of Lispole, is of course is a proud Kerryman. His brother, the late Liam Higgins won two All Irelands wearing the Green and Gold. Joe himself is often seen in Croke Park at matches (often with his mother). Needless to say its not the premium section you’ll see him.

I had forgotten about this, having been kept sweet by Fianna Fail and The PDs for 5 years with a deal, Jackie Healy Rae is introduced by the MC with the words ‘Sugar Daddy is Back!’ to which the crowd responds to with chants of ‘Siucra, Siucra, Siucra…..’
Don Culloty -Labour Party- Killarney UDC 1999 Local Elections June 16, 2010
From the 1999 local elections a leaflet for Labour candidate Don Culloty running for a seat on Killarney UDC. He polled 138 votes and failed to be elected. I’m curious if he is any relation to former Jockey and now Trainer Jim Culloty.
The leaflet also mentions that Breeda Moynihan Cronin and Andrew McCarthy are running for the County Council, that Sean Counihan is the other Labour candidate for the UDC and that Paula Desmond is running for Europe.

From the 2009 Local Elections in Kerry. Poll topper in Killorglin LEA, Michael Healy-Rae, son of the sitting TD Jackie Healy-Rae.
‘I earnestly ask for your NO 1 VOTE Please -or you next highest preference’ writes Michael.
The thing that also strikes me about the leaflet is that when reading it I can hear Michael Healy-Raes voice saying most of the text.
I also see that Michael is a member of the HSE.

As Uachtarán of Cumann Luthchleas Gael Sean Kelly credited himself with the opening on Croke Park to Soccer and Rugby.
