The 40 page “Fianna Fail Canvassers’ Guide” from the 2011 General Election June 2, 2011

From the 2011 General Election the 40 page Fianna Fail canvassers guide. As its forty pages I’ve uploaded the Pdf.
I’ve Uploaded the file Here or click on the image to launch.

The introduction in the guide …

This election will be one of the most important in our nation’s history. We face a choice between Fianna Fáil’s commitment to tackle our problems
head-on, or of going the road of cynical politics as usual offered by Fine Gael and Labour.
Over the coming weeks, Fianna Fáil representatives, candidates, and members will be engaging with members of the public about our plan for
recovery, and will be listening to people’s concerns and hopes for the future.
As you do this, it is important that you are aware of the actions this party has taken while in government. This guide has been prepared with that in
mind. It explains what we have done in key policy areas.

The problems Ireland confronts today are too serious for politics as usual. We in Fianna Fáil will fight this election on the basis of a clear
and honest plan which will:
• Restore the economy,
• Create jobs, and
• Deliver reform.
In contrast, the opposition parties are engaged in a deeply cynical campaign of constant criticism. They believe that a combination of
populist rhetoric and soft-option policies represents a credible solution.
It does not.
That will be our message to the electorate in the upcoming campaign. We hope that you will help us to spread it in the coming weeks, and we hope
that this guide assists you in that task.

Candidates or TDs will often send a card with useful phone numbers (sometimes with a magnet so it can be stuck on the fridge), a guide to local services, Budget guides, guides to Benefits and so on all in the hope that you will hold on to them.
World Cups and other sporting occasions also lead to a flurry of leaflets with fixture guides and the like. This one is a fixture guide for the 2002 World Cup produced by Fine Gael Dublin North west candidate Brendan Brady. The 2002 General Election was held on the 17th of May and Brady polled 2,082 votes and missed out on a seat.

Her website

The blurb with the Video states…

My background is defined by a lifetime of work with local, national and international voluntary organisations, from my time as a teacher in St. Michael’s House in Ballymun to my current role as the Managing Director of Special Olympics Europe/Eurasia, working across 58 countries.

It is this breadth of experience that I bring to this campaign, and I hope to have the opportunity to put this before the people in the autumn of this year.
I want to play a leadership role in making change happen, to inspire reform and renewal at home whilst rebuilding our place in the wider world. To be a practical President, in the service of the Irish people.

I will be travelling the country in the coming weeks, seeking the support of local representatives to secure a nomination for President. But I will need your help too. So please, sign up and get involved. Get in touch with your ideas and lets begin a campaign about the kind of future we can create together.
