From the 2010 Donegal South West By-Election a leaflet for Sinn Fein Candidate Pearse Doherty. It was Dohertys High Court Action that led to the holding of the by-election. In 2007 he came very close to winning a seat polling over 21% of the vote. He was subsequently elected to the Seanad. He is seen as having a great chance of winning the seat at the by-election.

From the 2009 Local elections a Sorry I Missed You card from Fianna Fail candidate Dermot Flanagan. He polled 396 votes and failed to win a seat.

The Statement agreed at the foundation of the United Left Alliance. It comprises seven main points.
The United Left Alliance currently comprises of The Socialist Party, People Before Profit, The Tipperary Workers and Unemployed Group, and Cllr Declan Bree and his local group in Sligo.
The Alliance will be publicly launched at a rally in the Ashling Hotel , Dublin on Friday 26 November 2010.

Not a peep about the economic crisis.

“He was elected in 85 and served 9 years declining to run again. He joined Labour in 1991 and ran for Cavan county council (Cavan area) in the same year failing to take a seat with 340 votes, a feat which the local Anglo Celt newspaper described as outstanding for Labour.He declined to renew his membership of Labour around 95. He was also involved in the local H Block/Armagh group and the Gralton Labour History Committee.”

In the main, it flirts away from National issues and focuses on the Candidate.
A leaflet on Climate change from the Youth wing of the Socialist Party, Socialist Youth. It mentions amongst other things Al Gores “An Inconvenient Truth”.
From the February 1982 General Election an Ad for Fianna Fail and its Galway West candidates Bobby Molloy, Maire Geoghegan Quinn, Frank Fahey, Nicholas O’Connor and Mark Killilea. Running five candidates Fianna Fail won three seats.

The focus of the leaflet is on Environmental issues such as Booterstown Marsh.
It was at this time that ‘Environmental Issues started taking a bigger role in election leaflets , in part to do with the potential rise in the Green Party vote.
