Searched for ‘Fianna Fail’ earlier … and a ‘Fed Up with Fianna Fail?’ Sponsored Link from Labour appeared.
Then searched for ‘Fine Gael’ … and a ‘Fed Up with Fine Gael?’ Sponsored Link from Labour appeared.
They both lead to a page with this youtube clip.
From the 2004 European Elections a leaflet for Labour Party candidate in Dublin Ivana Bacik. She polled 40,707 votes and missed out on a seat.
The Trinity Lecturer having stood a number of times previously, she was elected as an Independent to the Seanad in 2007. In 2009 she again stood for Labour in the Dublin Central by-election.
This is the back page of a 2007 Leaflet from the Labour Party Education Spokesperson Jan O’Sullivan on Schools.
A simple yet effective way of getting their message across
From the 1999 Local Elections a leaflet for Labour candidate Tommy Moore running for Drogheda Borough Council and Louth County Council. He was elected to the Borough Council. His running mate Finian Brannigan won a seat on neither body.

From 1993 Labour ‘Working For You In Government’ leaflet. In a coalition government with Fianna Fail, Labour was ‘Putting its Programme for Change into Action’.
The leaflet details what had been done such as the introduction of the May Day holiday. The Childrens allowance was £20.
House building in 1993 was up to 3,700 from 2,800 in 1992.
The restriction on RTEs advertising Revenue had been lifted and lots more.
Aside from Dick Springs message on the front of the leaflet we also have a message from Jim Kemmy on the back with a form to fill out.
From the 1999 local elections a leaflet for Labour candidate Don Culloty running for a seat on Killarney UDC. He polled 138 votes and failed to be elected. I’m curious if he is any relation to former Jockey and now Trainer Jim Culloty.
The leaflet also mentions that Breeda Moynihan Cronin and Andrew McCarthy are running for the County Council, that Sean Counihan is the other Labour candidate for the UDC and that Paula Desmond is running for Europe.
From the 2009 Local Elections Labour candidate Henry Upton running in Crimlin Kimmage where he was elected.
Henry Upton is the eldest son of the late Pat Upton T.D. and nephew of Mary Upton.

From the run up to the 1992 General Election, a leaflet from Labour candidates Emmet Stagg and Jack Wall running in Kildare. Emmet Stagg was elected with Jack Wall narrowly missing out.
The leaflet attacks cuts done by constituency colleague Fianna Fails Charlie McCreevy, these cuts were known as the ‘Dirty Dozen’.
From the 2004 local elections a leaflet from Labour candidate Sinead Seery who was running in the Artane Ward. She polled well but failed to win a seat. In 2009 she again narrowly missed out on a seat.
From 2009 a leaflet for Naas Town Council Labour candidate Ger Dunne along with a leaflet for the Labour Naas team of Anne Breen, Pat McCarthy, Ger Dunne and Paddy MacNamara.
A simple card with useful numbers from former Rugby International Gerry ‘Ginger’ McLoughlin issued around the 2009 Local Elections.
Gerry, a prop, won 18 caps for Ireland. He was also a member of the famous Munster team that beat the All Blacks in 1978. He is probably most remembered for his try against England in Twickenham (seen here from 7.03 mins onwards) during Ireland’s Triple Crown campaign in 1982.
Gerry McLoughlin was originally elected as an Independent to Limerick City council in 2004 before joining Labour in 2006.
He was comfortably elected in the 2009 Local Elections and his daughter Orla McLoughlin was also elected to Limerick City Council in 2009.
From the 2004 European Elections, a Canvass card with a Quiz on the back (which someone has tried to answer) from Peter Cassells The Labour Party candidate in Ireland East. The answer to Question c is fairly vague.
Peter Cassells is a former head of the ICTU. He polled 59,158 votes (13.05%) and failed to win a seat.
From the 2007 General Election a leaflet for Labour Party candidate Oisín Quinn running in Dun Laoghaire where he polled 2265 votes and failed to win a seat. Interestingly enough the total of Quinns and Eamon Gilmores votes did not make up a quota.
Elected initially in the 2004 Local Elections for the Rathmines Ward, he was elected again in the 2009 Local Elections for the Pembroke Rathmines Ward. He is a nephew of former Labour leader Ruairi Quinn.
From 2006 an issue of Labour Youth publication Left Tribune with the catchy cover using the Sex Pistols theme with ‘Never Mind The Blueshirts… Here’s The Socialism’
A decent enough read which includes brief profiles of Labours candidates in the 2007 General Election in Dublin and the Ireland North West area.
Many thanks to Dermot L for bringing this to my attention.

From the 2007 General Election a leaflet for Labour Party candidate Willie Penrose running in Westmeath. First elected in 1992 , Penrose held his seat in 2007.
From the 2005 Meath by Election a flyer for Labour candidate Dominic Hannigan. Hannigan polled 5567 votes and failed to win the seat.
There were high hopes of winning a seat in the New Meath East constituency in 2007, however he just missed out on the final seat to Fianna Fails Thomas Byrne.
He was elected to the Seanad in 2007.
At a time a lot of Independent candidates are joining Labour, its interesting to note that Hannigan was originally elected to Meath County Council as an Independent before later joining the Labour Party.

From the 1992 General Election a leaflet from Labour Party candidate Niamh Bhreathnach running in Dun Laoghaire.
buoyed by the Spring Tide, she was elected on the first count. It was her only term as a TD. She did however serve as Minister of Education and will be remembered for the abolition of third level fees.
She lost her seat in 1997 and again failed in 2002. She is still a councillor.
