From I think late 1998 a leaflet from Young Fine Gael about the benefits of membership. On the reverse are statements from Brian Hayes and Denis Naughten as well as Sarah Hall and Mark O’Doherty. (I wonder is it the Mark O’Doherty who is now a special advisor to Government Chief Whip Paul Kehoe?)

From the 2004 Local and European Election Campaign a leaflet from Fine Gael entitled
“A Manifesto for Young Ireland” .
Included are a message from Enda Kenny and also “11 Reasons to Vote Fine Gael on June 11”.
Some of the eleven reasons are indicative of the time. The first one being First Time Buyers.

“Are you Being Served?” -Young Fine Gael give out about the Banks in 1990. January 29, 2010
“Are you Being Served?” ask Young Fine Gael in 1990. The Banks should look after students, giving them loans, according to Young Fine Gael around 1990.
In my day the banks looked after students by giving them a free fiver when they opened an account.
I’m sure the banks parsimony changed with the Celtic Tiger, Students were probably given mortgages by the banks then!
Young Fine Gael Leaflet circa 1990 December 18, 2009
Not quite sure when this is from, as some of the press cuttings look to be from different years. Young Fine Gael went to the USSR, they called for State Funding for Parties, Weren’t too happy about a rugby tour to South Africa and lots more in the press clippings. Hugh Gillanders is listed as the National Youth Officer.

Young Fine Gael Yes to the Amsterdam Treaty.
‘Futureline’ -Young FG magazine July 1992 September 14, 2009
Futureline, the Young Fine Gael magazine in 1992. Young Fine Gael are delighted with themselves at the Yes vote for Maastricht and the fact that they campaigned during the exam season. Also contains a report of a questions and answers session with John Bruton. in Maynooth .

Some lovely images too of the Summer Bar-B-Que on the back page with Brian Hayes amongst others looking as if hes enjoying himself. Others pictured include Stephen Rea, Colm Brophy,Karen Bailey, Tim Wray and John Mullins,Wonder are many of them still involved?
