With a striking image and the famous quote “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why are they poor, they call me a Communist.” from Archbishop Camara, this leaflet from Emmet Stagg asks “By working together, socialist and christian activists can radically change the nature of politics in Ireland”.
I don’t know if anything came from this Christian Socialist message which I think was from the 1989 General Election campaign.

The Autumn 2011 Newsletter from Socialist Party candidate in the forthcoming Dublin West By Election , Ruth Coppinger. A councillor since 2004 she is seen as having a decent chance of winning the by election. She announces that she will be standing in the by election. Issues such as the new household charge, Cuts in SNAs and Blanchardstown Hospital are also covered.

The August 2011 Newsletter from People Before Profit (United Left Alliance) TD for Dun Laoghaire , Richard Boyd Barrett. Amongst the many issues covered are Loughlinstown Hospital, Bus cuts, SNA cuts and The Household Tax. There is also a profile of New Councillor Melisa Halpin.
From the 2011 Local Elections for Derry City Council a leaflet from Connor Kelly who was running for People Before Profit in Cityside.
Kelly got 265 first preferences, 4.5% of the vote.
Connor Kelly is possibly better known as a musician with his band Connor Kelly and the Red Medicine .

From the 1985 Local Elections , Workers Party candidate Sean Walsh who was running in the Piltown LEA. Walsh was elected on the first count with 1,145 votes. He first won a seat in the 1974 Local elections and was returned again in the 1979 Local Elections. He stood in a number of General Elections as well as the 1979 European Elections.
The closure of Clover Meats which was based in Ferrybank and closed in 1984 is a big issue for Walsh. Was something amiss with the closure?

From the second Lisbon Referendum a leaflet from the Socialist Party with the headline “Joe Higgins MEP says:Defend Workers’ rights & public services – NO to Lisbon II”. On the reverse are “5 Reasons to vote No!”.
From the 2011 Assembly Elections a leaflet from Harry Hutchinson, the People Before Profit candidate in Mid Ulster.
Hutchinson polled 243 votes.
“Fine Gael/Labour – just the same as FF/PDs” writes Socialist Party Dublin South West candidate Mick Murphy in this leaflet from the 2007 General Election.
He polled 1,580 votes and failed to win a seat.
From the 2011 General Election a leaflet from Michael Finnegan of The Workers Party who was running in Dublin Mid West. Finnegan the President of The Workers Party, polled 694 votes.
From the 2011 Assembly Elections a leaflet for Pat Lawlor of The Socialist Party who was running in West Belfast.
Amongst those on the leaflet saying “I’m backing Pat” are the new Socialist Party MEP for Dublin , Paul Murphy, Dave Nellist and Joe Higgins.

A recent leaflet from the Socialist Workers Party with the headline “Resist IMF EU attack” .
The leaflet mentions amongst other things the Joint Labour Committees, workers resistance in Waterford Glass and Thomas Cook. They also describe themselves as “.. one of the most active and determined elements of the new United Left Alliance”
From the 2011 General Election a flyer from People Before Profit ?United Left Alliance candidate Richard Boyd Barrett who was running in Dun Laoghaire. He polled 6,206 votes and duly won a seat.
