From the 2005 Westminster Elections The Manifesto for the Socialist Environmental Alliance candidate Eamon McCann running in Foyle. Veteran Campaigner McCann polled 1,649 votes.
As the pages are too large I’ve uploaded the manifesto in PDF form HERE
From the 2010 Westminister Election, a leaflet from Conservative and Unionist candidate David Harding running in Foyle. David Harding polled
1,221 votes (3.22%) and lost his deposit.
In the leaflet a lot of emphasis is put on the partnership between the UUP and the Ulster Unionist Party and how ‘for the first time in a generation, people in Northern Ireland can have a decisive say in who forms the next UK government.’
Problem of course being that it may now be the DUP who have that say.
Harding is pictured all over Derry with a grey haired lady, anyone know who she is?
The leaflet from veteran campaigner Eamonn McCann running for The People Before Profit Alliance in the 2010 Westminister Elections in Foyle.
This leaflet would have been delivered by volunteers rather than the postal service due to an Industrial dispute, of which details here.

An election flyer from the 2005 UK Westminister Elections in the Foyle Constituency, Socialist Environmental Alliance (SEA) candidate Eamonn McCann. He received 1,649 votes.
A veteran campaigner, the well known Eamonn McCann ‘has been active in left-wing politics for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Labour Party in the 1960s and provided a strong socialist voice in the early civil rights movement. He first stood for Foyle in 1969. He has been involved ever since in challenging the abuse of State power, particularly in relation to Bloody Sunday. He is a campaigner for the rights of children and disabled people, and against sexism, racism and homophobia.
He is a member of the Socialist Workers’ Party, chairman of the local branch of the NUJ, vice-chairman of Derry Trades Council and a member of Amnesty International. …and lives in Derry with his partner, Goretti Horgan’
‘The SEA offers a better way. The more emphasis we give to the issues which unite us, the better we can handle the issues which divide us.’
