From the 1965 General Election, voters are urged “Do NOT Vote Fianna Fail” by the Garda Pensioners Association. It asks for a vote for Fine Gael or Labour who had given assurances to them over Pension increases.

A Leaflet from the “Repudiate The Debt!” Campaign which was issued in Carlow. It concerns the €700 million being handed over this week to unguaranteed and unsecured bond holders.

From the Enough campaign a Leaflet for the “Save Our Buses” Protest 1pm Thursday 14th July at Dáil Éireann. In Dublin bus routes have been cut with inadequate replacements put in. Looking at some of the new proposed routes you can take a good guess that its not bus users who thought them up. Dublin Bus are currently in consultation about other route changes.
School bus services are also being cut and new charges introduced.

A flyer from Independent TD for Wicklow and East Carlow Stephen Donnelly for the protest on the 13th of July against cutbacks in Special Needs Assistants (SNAs).
“Our Children’s Needs are Special” writes Donnelly who gives details of the protest as well as a case study in “Cians Story”. Cian is six and has Autism and ADHD.
Residents Association Newsletter -> SDCC to spend €1.2 million building new houses …. July 2, 2011
An unusual one this,A residents Association Newsletter I was sent because South Dublin County Council intend building 9 houses at a cost of 1.2 million euro whilst within a mile there are vacant properties owned by either the banks, NAMA or the State.
The residents association are Glendoher and District Residents Association which is up near Ballyboden.

A “Tara Needs You” -flyer from the Tara Solidarity Vigil re building of M3 Motorway June 9, 2011
From possibly 2006 a flyer for the vigil and demo in opposition to the building of the Motorway (Route of the motorway) at Tara through an ancient and historically important landscape.
After much protest the Motorway was signed off by Dick Roche the day before The Green Party went into government. The Greens had opposed the route of the Motorway.

First off many thanks to the sender. This poster is from a group called SAC and appeared over Dublin in the mid 80s (1987?) .
“THINK -Thought Kills All Known Clerics. Dead.” was a play on an ad for a popular detergent. The image also has nuns and priests going down the toilet.

Anti Rod Licence Ad from the 1989 General Election urging a vote for anti Rod Licence candidates.
From the 1989 General Election an Ad from the Corrib Anglers and Boatmen against the controversial Rod Licence Legislation introduced by Fianna Fail. The Ad urges votes for 5 candidates who were against the Legislation.
In that 1989 Election, an Anti Rod Licence candidate, Frank Durcan ran in Mayo West polling a very respectable 5,187 votes.

From the 2011 General Election a card produced by the Family Resource Centre National Forum. Candidates were asked by the Family Resource Centre National Forum to give a commitment to the local Family Resource Centre.

There had been rumours that one of the late Jean McConnvilles family would stand in Louth against Gerry Adams. That didn’t happen, instead there was an ‘Anybody But Adams’ campaign involving the family.
This flyer was distributed in Louth over the election campaign.
