Two Leaflets from Martin MacFeorais -Independent -1987 Dublin South October 1, 2009

“….we are assailed from many quarters, and by determined individuals advancing their own sectional interest to our detriment…”
Ring a bell? a good deal of this could be applied to today.
I just like the design of these two leaflets, the mother carrying her shopping with a boy and girl either side, the warm greeting ‘Dia bhur mbeatha’ and even the colurs are unusual for election flyers.
Martin MacFeorais polled 107 votes.

Alan Shatter ‘TIME’ magazine 2009 September 13, 2009

From 2009 a leaflet from Alan Shatter. As usual with Shatter there’s an eye catching theme that makes it look like something else. He has done ones in the style of Star Trek and X-Factor amongst other things previously.

Mind you €50 to celebrate 25 years of representing Dublin South is a bit steep.

Leaflet from Christine Buckley -Independent- Dublin South 1997 September 9, 2009

Christine Buckley from Dublin South 1997 .

She became central to the fight for recognition of the abuses that were carried out in State Institutions. … that eventually led to the Ryan Report and the more recent Murphy Report.

This is from 1997 , so is pre the  ‘States of Fear’ documentary which was another in a series of catalysts for the Church and State to admit their guilt.
She polled 1,268 votes.
