From the 2007 General Election, Meath West Fianna Fail candidates Johnny Brady and Noel Dempsey. Both were comfortably elected.

Johnny Brady, Noel Dempsey -Fianna Fail -Meath West 2007 February 19, 2010
Shane Cassells -Fianna Fail -2005 Meath By-Election January 30, 2010
Navan based Fianna Fail Councillor Shane Cassells from the 2005 Meath by-election. Cassells lost out to Fine Gaels Shane McEntee in the by-election.
There have been strong rumours that he may be joining Labour. His uncle Peter Cassells (ex General Secretary of the ICTU) stood for Labour in the 2004 European Elections.
Priorities Party – St Lukes Leaflet -2008 January 28, 2010
Many thanks to the donor. The Priorites Party (known also as the The Peoples’ Accountability, Transparency and Standards Party?) were short lived, one of the founders Leo Armstrong is listed as an Independent in the 2009 Local Elections in Clane, although I don’t know if he was standing for the Priorities Party or not.
The party is now defunct.
I have another leaflet from them posted HERE.

John Bruton-Fine Gael- Meath 2002 January 17, 2010
John Bruton stands for the last time in 2002 in Meath where he was elected on the 8th count. Former Taoiseach and Fine Gael Leader, Bruton resigned his seat to take up the role of EU Ambassador to Washington in 2004.
Sirena Campbell -PD-Meath by-election 2005 November 21, 2009
Sirena Campbell from the Meath by-election 2005 caused by John Brutons appointment as EU Ambassador to the United States. Sirena Campbell, along with the late Kate Walsh in Kildare North (where a by-election was held on the same day to replace Charlie McCreevey who had moved to the EU Commission) were the last Progressive Democrat candidates fielded in by-elections.
Sirena Campbell, having failed in her attempt in the 2004 locals in Slane, polled 2,679 in the by-election. She got just 957 votes in the 2007 GE , however she was elected to Meath Co Council in 2009 when standing for Fine Gael.
Jack Fitzsimons -Independent -Euro 1994 Leinster November 8, 2009
Meath Councillor Jack Fitzsimons running on amongst other things an anti hunting and Hare Coursing ticket. He got 6,752 votes.
‘Women in An Ireland Of Equals’- Sinn Fein 2002 GE November 1, 2009
Sinn Fein show off all their female candidates sitting and standing happily with a smiling Gerry Adams. The Back of the leaflet covers issues such as equal pay, childcare etc..

Leaflet from Pat O’Brien -Anti Incinerator Independent-Meath 2002 General Election October 19, 2009
Pat O’Brien an anti Incinerator candidate in the 2002 general election in Meath. Having looked to have died out, The incinerator plans appear to be back. Pat stood for Fine Gael in the last local elections but failed to win a seat.
Michael Lynch- Fianna Fail Meath 1987 September 22, 2009
With Jim Fitzsimons staying in Europe. Colm Hilliard was the only sitting Fianna Fail TD to contest the 1987 General Election in Meath.
Hilliard, Former TD Michael Lynch and newcomers Mary Wallace and Noel Dempsey were on the Fianna Fail ticket.
Lynch topped the poll as Fianna Fail won three of the five seats with Colm Hilliard and Noel Dempsey joining him in the Dail.
In 1989 Lynch lost his seat pipped on the final count by party colleague Dempsey.
In that 1989 election on the first count just 723 votes separated the four Fianna Fail candidates.
Lynch was unlucky that the two Dail terms he served were short, one period was from February to November 1982 and the other from 1987 to 1989.
Cllr Tommy Reilly- The man who never stood. September 11, 2009
This is an Ad from the Meath Echo asking voters to ‘Keep a Strong Voice in County Meath’…….. Funny thing…… Cllr Tommy Reilly never stood for Fianna Fail in the 2005 Meath by-election.
He had to bow out due to some rezoning and other shenanigans that came to light. In the end it was Shane Cassells who stood for Fianna Fail.
