It explains the benefit of having a Dublin Mayor as well as a message from Paul Gogarty the Green Party Dublin Spokesperson.

From the 1974 Local Elections a newspaper Ad (the Galway Advertiser) for Independent candidate John Francis King with the wonderful slogan ‘Dont Forget on Polling Day – Cast Your Vote For J.F.K‘
As far as I know he was elected.
From the 2002 General Election a flyer for Fine Gael Sligo Leitrim candidate John Perry.
Perry, a Ballymote based businessman, was first elected in 1997 and despite it being a poor election for Fine Gael, he held on to his seat.
“Vision with Purpose” was a pretty bad Slogan especially when up against the memorable “A lot done, more to do”.
From the 2004 Local Elections a flyer for Socialist Workers Party candidate John Carty running in Gorey. Carty polled 189 votes and failed to win a seat on Wexford County Council.
From the 1992 General Election in Dun Laoghaire a letter to voters from the Democratic Lefts Eamon Gilmore.
One line in particular stands out “….that substance and policy are more important than style and performance”.
Eamon Gilmore was elected, which was a decent performance considering the Spring Tide.
From the 2007 General Election a leaflet for Independent Candidate (and recent Labour Recruit) Jimmy Harte running in Donegal North East.
The Letterkenny based formed Fine Gael councillor polled 1314 votes. He is son of former Fine Gael TD Paddy Harte. The leaflet is a messy size, so I’ve uploaded it in *.pdf HERE
From the 2007 General Election a Leaflet produced by CHASE (Cork Harbour Alliance For a Safe Environment). The message was to
“Vote only for candidates with No Incineration In their Party Policies”
It details the possible impact on Cork harbour and its environs of Incineration as well as cost factors associated with it.
From the 2009 Local Elections in Blackrock an election leaflet from Independent candidate (and former PD councillor) Victor Boyhan. Interestingly, a page of it is taken up with a message of support from Paul McGrath. McGrath and Boyhan spent many years together in the “Birds Nest” home on York Road in Dun Laoghaire and later down in Monkstown.
In McGraths acclaimed book “Back from the Brink” Victor Boyhan gets a number of mentions. Including “…he became one of the most outspoken voices in ensuring that Smyly Trust Homes would be covered under the State Redress Scheme, investigating the abuse of children.”
Boyhan who lost his seat in 2004 regained it here in 2009.
From the 2007 General Election a flyer for Fianna Fail Waterford candidate Ollie Wilkinson. Wilkinson who won a seat in 2002, lost his seat to party colleague Brendan Kenneally.
From the 2002 General Election a Fine Gael leaflet for candidates Gavin Doyle and Michael Joe Cosgrave running in Dublin North East.
The headline being ‘They’ve Blown It! FF/PD Government Squander five Golden Years’
It goes on to detail inaction in Health, Crime, Traffic and the LUAS as well as Fine Gael achievements in the Rainbow Government.
Neither Doyle or Cosgrave (who lost his seat) were elected.
From the 2007 General Election Campaign a Fine Gael Party Political Broadcast. Its Focused on Enda Kenny and his contract for a better Ireland. It ends with Enda signing it.

From the 1985 election for Greystones Town Commission a Letter to voters from Labour candidates Joe Sweeney, Mallie Jacobsen and Shay Monaghan.
They write that…
“The day is long gone when the “Wool can be pulled” over the Electorates eyes, with (we will do this and we will do that) if elected.”
Aslo that the local Labour TD and Minister Liam Kavanagh has “…shown his interest in our Town, by the many projects now in progress and those in the pipeline..”
I’m not too sure which of the candidates were elected.
From the 2007 General Election , a flyer from Fine Gael with Mary Harney pictured drinking an Orange (with Vodka?) and Bertie Ahern drinking something that doesn’t look like Bass.
The slogan is “The Spark has gone… ..Now its time to move on” .
Has a message from Enda at the back with how pally they are with Labour and so on.

From the 1981 General Election a Fine Gael poster with a picture of Garret Fitzgerald and the slogan ‘Let The Country Win’.
Fitzgerald became Taoiseach after the election although the Government only lasted until February 1982.

From the 1997 General Election a leaflet from Progressive Democrat candidate Helen Keogh with the striking headline “How to Double Your Vote on Friday”.
By voting for Helen Keogh you were also voting to put Mary Harney into government, hence doubling your vote.
Helen Keogh lost her seat.
A flyer from Cllr Martin Heydon ‘Your General Election Candidate’. Hendon was selected by Fine Gael to be a candidate in Kildare South. He polled 1,980 votes in the Athy Ward in 2009.
