From the 2011 General Election campaign “A final message from Joe Higgins” of the Socialist Party / United Left Alliance running in Dublin West.
Higgins appeals for number 1 votes and there are headlines such as “Labour cant make a difference” and “dont be conned”.
Hiigins was comfortably elected , regaining the seat he lost in the 2007 General Election.
From the 1999 Local Elections a flyer for Fine Gael candidate Tadgh O’Sullivan running for Killarney UDC. O’Sullivan polled 192 votes and failed to win a seat.
The slogan “A New Patriotism Locally” wasn’t very good.
From the 2011 General Election a Flyer for Fianna Fail candidates Declan Breathnach and James Caroll running in Louth. Neither won a seat with Carroll polling 5,681 votes and Breathnach polling 5,177 votes.
From the 1987 General Election campaign a letter from Albert Reynolds to voters in Longford Westmeath asking for support. I presume the letter was sent only in Longford as it has the plea that “..Longford needs its own Minister”.
In the event Reynolds topped the poll and was duly appointed Minister for Industry and Commerce.
From the 1992 General Election , The Spring Tide, “An Important Message from Dick Spring to Dublin Families”. The leaflet hit out at Fianna Fail lies.
It also shows how highly regarded by the electorate Dick Spring was at the time. By that it was a message from Dick Spring as opposed to a message from The Labour Party.
Interestingly enough he says that “Labour has NO plans to introduce a new property or house tax”

From the 2007 General Election campaign a card giving details of “Labour’s Commitments to the LGBT Community”.
From the 2011 General Election campaign a flyer from Michael Colreavy the Sinn Fein candidate in Sligo North Leitrim. The Leitrim based councillor won a seat.
From the 2004 Local Elections in the Lucan ward a clever flyer delivered to houses on the evening of the 2004 Champions League Final between Monaco and Porto. The match was won by Porto then managed by José Mourinho.
Eamon Tuffy was elected. He is the father of Labour Dublin Mid West TD Joanna Tuffy.
From the 2011 General Election in Wexford a leaflet from Independent candidate Ruairí de Valera. Ruairi DeValera is a grandson of former Taoiseach and President Eamon De Valera and of course a cousin of Eamon Ó Cuív.
He polled 119 votes.

From the 1997 General Election a leaflet for Independent Anti Service Charges candidate Paddy Mulcahy running in Cork North Central. Mulcahy who was active in the anti Bin Tax campaign and spent time in jail for his actions polled 889 votes.

From the 1989 European Elections a leaflet from Kevin Dunphy one of the three Sinn Fein candidates running in the Leinster constituency. Of the three he polled the highest with 4,534 votes. Pearse McGeough polled 3001 and Terry Moore polled 2424 votes.
The leaflet was the first about the EEC and its effects. It compared the situation in 1973 with that of 1988 and the impact that membership of The EEC had on Ireland.

A Sinn Féin leaflet for Dublin Central Candidate Mary Lou McDonald
Ex-SF Councillor Nicky Kehoe expresses his support for the party.
Nicky was an incredibly popular local councillor and came within 80 votes of taking a seat in 2002. (He actually came third in first preference votes!)
He retired from politics in 2008 and many speculated that he had fell out with the party, however he has remained a vocal supporter.
