From the June 1927 General Election a leaflet from Domhnall Ua Buachalla (Donal Buckley) and James Cregan running for Fianna Fáil in Kildare. Domhnall Ua Buachalla was elected and later became The last Governor-General of the Irish Free State.

They were a small mainly Munster based Party thats aims were for “a politically and economically independent Ireland on a basis of Christian and traditional ideals” At it’s height it had a number of Urban District Councillors.

Leaflet from Ann Joyce -Independent -Dublin South West – November 1982 General Election


A bit of History, A leaflet from Nan Joyce who was the first Traveller to run for the Dail. She ran in Dublin South West in November 1982 and polled 581 votes. The leaflet is interesting in that it gives an insight to the issues faced by Travellers at the time.
