From the 1992 Referendum on Abortion, The Right to Travel and The Right to Information, a Leaflet from Let Live Crusade- “Vote for Life – not for death!” Vote No – No – No. The leaflet also mentions the General Election that was held the same day.
The contact for the group was a Priest, Fr Leonard Coughlan in Church Street, Dublin 7.

From the 1992 Abortion Referendum Campaign a leaflet from the “Alliance for Choice”. The leaflet urges a No vote on the Abortion Referendum, and a Yes vote for the right to travel and a Yes vote for the right to information.
Labour Youth and Young Fine Gael were amongst the members of the Alliance.

Card from Owen McGahon- Fine Gael -Dundalk No.1- 1945 Local Elections November 11, 2012

From the 1945 Local Elections a Card from Owen McGahon (OB McGahon) who was running for Fine Gael in the Dundalk No. 1 ward.
His father, T.F. McGahon, was one of the inaugural members of Dundalk Urban District Council when it was created along with other Irish local authorities by the British Government in 1898. *source
His son was former Fine Gael TD Brendan McGahon.

This is quite interesting in that it illustrates the protectionist part of the 1932 Fianna Fail manifesto that in part (along with the refusal to pay Land Annuities) led to the economic war with Britain from 1932 to 1938.
I wonder did Joe Dolan ever see it given the “More and More and More and More and More ….”

“Hecklers! – We Love Them…” 1948 anti Clann Na Poblachta ad from Fianna Fail October 23, 2012


Interesting piece of history this an anti Clann Na Poblachta ad from Fianna Fail from the 1948 General Election Campaign.
The Fianna Fail candidates were Sean MacEntee (later Tainiste) and Michael Yeats (son of WB Yeats) and MacEntee was elected. Amongst the Clann Na Poblachta candidates was Noel Browne (who was also elected).
