From the 2004 Local Elections a Window Poster from Socialist Workers Party candidate in Dun Laoghaire Richard Boyd Barrett with the message “Scrap The Bin Tax”. Boyd Barrett polled 1,439 votes and missed out on a seat. Like the 2007 General Election, in 2004 he was in position for a seat after the first count but lost out on transfers.
