Fine Gael weren’t the only ones with a ‘5 Point Plan’ …Michael Ryan -Independent- Dublin Mid West -2011 General Election July 5, 2011


Fine Gael weren’t the only ones with a ‘Five Point Plan’ in the 2011 General Election. Independent candidate Michael Ryan who was running in Dublin Mid West had a “5 Point Plan for a New Ireland”. Amongst the items were
“The low paid couldn’t afford the Celtic Tiger Party so why should they pay for it….” and “TDs to serve 3 months at minimum wage”
Ryan polled 375 votes.

Flyer for Luke Moriarty- Fianna Fail- 2007 GE Dublin Mid West July 4, 2011


From the 2007 General Election a flyer from Luke Moriarty who was running for Fianna Fail in Dublin Mid West. The Kerry native and local businessman polled a respectable 3,671 votes but failed to win a seat.

Residents Association Newsletter -> SDCC to spend €1.2 million building new houses ….

An unusual one this,A residents Association Newsletter I was sent because South Dublin County Council intend building 9 houses at a cost of 1.2 million euro whilst within a mile there are vacant properties owned by either the banks, NAMA or the State.
The residents association are Glendoher and District Residents Association which is up near Ballyboden.

“A Worker on the Ground – Always Around” Martin Brady -Fianna Fail -1997 General Election -Dublin North East


From the 1997 General Election a leaflet from Fianna Fail candidate in Dublin North East Martin Brady. Notice how crime was the first issue listed … Zero Tolerance on crime which was one of the main tenets of that 1997 Fianna Fail Election campaign. He also gives a mention to “Proper controls to stem the flow of illegal immigrants”.
Brady was elected.
