Brady had been expected to poll well but his campaign went awry after a number of poor radio appearances and he polled just over 8% of the vote and never challenged for a seat.

From the 1985 Local Elections a leaflet for Labour Party candidates Charlie Keddy and Tom Mulligan who we running in Greystones for seats on Wicklow County Council.
Keddy polled 448 votes and Mulligan 214 votes and neither won a seat.
Keddy has since contested many elections (his record) and this first outing was the most votes he ever received.
