From the 2004 Local elections in the Artane Ward a leaflet for Fine Gael candidate Dan Sullivan (who has also stood as an Independent for the Seanad). There is a message from the candidate himself and a note of approval from Richard Bruton also.
Sullivan polled 278 votes and missed out on a seat.

From the 1979 European Elections ads from The Galway Advertiser for Independent Fianna Fail candidate Neil Blaney running in Connaught Ulster.
“The EEC has failed to deliver on the promises made when you voted Yes to entry 7 years ago” writes Blaney giving details on faults from Potato marketing policy to The Regional Fund.
Blaney topped the poll and was elected on the first count.

From the 1994 Dublin South Central By-Election a news sheet from Democratic Lefts Eric Byrne with the catchy headline of
“The last time they held a by-election Mayo got an Airport” .
Byrne was elected in the by-election and that victory along with the victory of Kathleen Lynch on the same day in Cork North Central allowed the numbers to be there to form the Rainbow Coalition.

From the 2011 General Election a leaflet for Sinn Fein candidate Eoin O’Broin running in Dublin Mid West. O’Broin polled 5,060 votes and narrowly missed out on a seat.
A former Belfast City Councillor he stood in 2007 in Dun Laoghaire and in Ballybrack in the 2009 Local Elections. Ó Broin has had a number of books published and regularly contributes pieces to various papers and periodicals.

From the 2007 General Election a flyer for Ben Doyle of The Progressive Democrats who ran in Dublin South Central. He polled 438 votes whilst his running mate Frank McNamara of Late Late show fame polled 474 votes.
In the 2009 Local Elections, Doyle ran unsuccessfully for Fianna Fail in the Ballyfermot Drimnagh ward.

Having been elected to Dublin City Council in 1979, she stood for the Dail in 1981 and was elected. She held her seat until 1997. She had a brief spell as Minister of State at the Department of Health and Social Welfare. She is married to former Senator and TD Alexis Fitzgerald.

Open it up and there is a doe eyed Bertie and promises of all sorts to tackle Drug Abuse and the problems associated with it. Veronica Guerin had been murdered the year before so Fianna Fails Zero Tolerance policies in this area appealed to the electorate.

From the 2011 General Election a Flyer for Fianna Fail candidates Declan Breathnach and James Caroll running in Louth. Neither won a seat with Carroll polling 5,681 votes and Breathnach polling 5,177 votes.
1987 letter from Albert Reynolds to Constituents asking for support.
From the 1987 General Election campaign a letter from Albert Reynolds to voters in Longford Westmeath asking for support. I presume the letter was sent only in Longford as it has the plea that “..Longford needs its own Minister”.
In the event Reynolds topped the poll and was duly appointed Minister for Industry and Commerce.

From the 1992 General Election , The Spring Tide, “An Important Message from Dick Spring to Dublin Families”. The leaflet hit out at Fianna Fail lies.
It also shows how highly regarded by the electorate Dick Spring was at the time. By that it was a message from Dick Spring as opposed to a message from The Labour Party.
Interestingly enough he says that “Labour has NO plans to introduce a new property or house tax”
