From the 1981 General Election a Fine Gael poster with a picture of Garret Fitzgerald and the slogan ‘Let The Country Win’.
Fitzgerald became Taoiseach after the election although the Government only lasted until February 1982.

From the 2004 Local and European Election Campaign a leaflet from Fine Gael entitled
“A Manifesto for Young Ireland” .
Included are a message from Enda Kenny and also “11 Reasons to Vote Fine Gael on June 11”.
Some of the eleven reasons are indicative of the time. The first one being First Time Buyers.
The First Time Buyer plans included a “Housing Deposit Scheme, similar to an SSIA, giving €1 for every €3 saved by first time buyers towards a deposit on a house“. there was also a promise to abolish stamp duty on second hand homes for first time buyers up to €400,000 and to “frontload mortgage interest relief“.
Other areas included Rip off Ireland, Insurance for Young Drivers, College Fees, Youth Suicide, Farming, Jobs and Public Transport.

Two of a series of ‘NO THANKS’ posters used by Fine Gael in the 2007 General Election Campaign.
The ‘Secret FF/PD Deals with IRA Killers?’ would have referred to the release of Pearse McAuley who had been convicted of the Killing of Garda Gerry McCabe. The backdrop of the prison was I’m sure also a reminder of McDowells Thornton Hall project.
The other dealing with stealth taxes.
Flyer from Philip Jenkinson -Fine Gael – Dublin North By-Election March 1998 August 22, 2010
From the 1998 Dublin North By-Election, a flyer for the Fine Gael Candidate Philip Jenkinson. He polled 3,185 votes in a contest won by Labours Sean Ryan.
The By-Election was caused by the resignation of Fianna Fail Ray Burke from allegations of Corruption.
Thus we have the line in the flyer, “I’m not in politics for myself. There has been too much of that recently.”

The Fine Gael slogan of ‘a new patriotism’ wasn’t exactly brilliant.
“Dr Bill – He’s on your side” -Bill Tormey-Independent -1997 General Election Dublin North West
In 1997 and even now Dr Bill was Dr Bill Tormey as opposed to Dr Bill Cullen. Tormey now a Fine Gael councillor had prior to being Independent, been a Labour Party candidate. (Dr Bill at electionsireland.org).
A Shamrock Rovers Fan of longstanding, Bill is a specialist in chemical pathology and general internal medicine and a consultant in Beaumont and Connolly hospitals. He is tipped by many to take a seat at the next General Election for Fine Gael.
Amongst the issues mentioned in the Flyer are The Port Tunnel, Water Charges and Residential Property Tax, the development of the New Town in Ballymun and Jobs.
