Based mainly around Ballymun and Tallaght they contested the 1977 and 1981 General Elections as well as the 1979 Local Elections. IN 1982 they became part of the new Democratic Socialist Party.

They Campaigned in the 1983 Abortion Referendum (Against) and the 1986 Divorce Referendum (Advocating a Yes Vote). They never, however contested elections.
