From the 1992 General Election an ad for Sinn Fein candidate in Cavan Monaghan Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin. He polled 4,197 votes and missed out on a seat. He was elected in 1997 and has held the seat since.

From the 1956 Mid Ulster By-Election a leaflet from Sinn Fein candidate Tom Mitchell. The background to the by-election is fascinating, and you can see the reason the leaflet quotes the poem “The Felons of our land” with “A felon’s cap’s the noblest crown. An Irish head can wear.”
Mitchell polled 24,124 votes and lost the election.
The by-election held in Mid Ulster on 8 May 1956 was called because both candidates in the Mid Ulster by-election, 1955 were disqualified. Tom Mitchell was disqualified from assuming office because he was a convicted felon. Charles Beattie was awarded the seat but he was also disqualified because he held an office of profit under the Crown
