From the 1984 European Elections in Dublin “Send your Best to Europe” , a Leaflet from Fine Gael candidates Mary Banotti and Richie Ryan. Both were elected.
In 1986 Ryan resigned his seat as he was appointed to the European Court of Auditors , Mary Banotti retired in 2004 having served as an MEP for Dublin for 20 year.

From the 1989 European Elections a flyer from Fine Gael MEP Chris O’Malley who was running in Dublin. O’Malley who had been co-opted to replace Richie Ryan in 1986 polled 26,574 votes and failed to win a seat. He later represented Labour as a Councillor, having been co-opted to replace Eamon Gilmore in 2003. In the 2004 Local Elections he lost his Council seat.

From the 2000 Tipperary South By-Election a leaflet for Fine Gael candidate Tom Hayes. Hayes polled a healthy 8,184 votes in a contest won by Seamus Healy. The By-Election was caused by the death of Labour TD Michael Ferris.
Hayes was elected to the Dail in 2002 and has held a seat since.

The Referendum was defeated with 51.79% voting No and 48.21% voting Yes.
