From the 1992 General Election a letter to voters in Dublin Central an “Election Message from Mr. Bertie Ahern T.D., Minister for Finance”. He topped the poll with 11,374 votes but neither of his running mates Dermot Fitzpatrick or Olga Bennett were elected.
From the 1983 Dublin Central By-Election, caused by the death of George Colley a leaflet from Sinn Fein candidate Christy Burke. Amongst the issues raised in the leaflet are Section 31, Water Rates, TDs Pay and pensions.

From 2002 a flyer from Joe Costello advertising a meeting on “The Future Use of Grangegorman Lands” in Aughrim Street Parish Centre.
Ten years later have the lands been developed along planned lines?
Many thanks to the sender.
From Easter 1984 “On my own Behalf and on behalf of all my family I would like to wish you a very happy Easter” writes then Minister for Finance Bertie Ahern. We have a detailed letter and also clinic times.
From the 1992 General Election the customary Good Morning Voter letter from then Minister for Finance Bertie Ahern.
From the 2004 Local Elections a leaflet for Ciarán MacAnnraoi and Christy Burke of Sinn Fein who were running in the North Inner City ward for a seat on Dublin County Council. ‘Big Ciarán’ MacAnnraoi polled 585 votes and failed to win a seat whilst Christy Burke topped the poll with 1,869 votes and won a seat.
Many thanks to the sender.
From the November 1982 General Election a leaflet from Fine Gael candidates Alice Glenn, John Colgan and Michael Keating who were running in Dublin Central.
Glenn and Keating were elected. All three candidates ended up running as Independents or in Keatings case The Progressive Democrats. Colgan ran as an Independent in the 1991 local Elections whilst Alice Glenn ran as an Independent in the 1997 General Election.
Glenn was probably most famous for her ‘A Woman Voting for Divorce is like a Turkey voting for Christmas‘ leaflet. I also have her reasons for ‘leaving’ Fine Gael “Why Fine Gael divorced Alice Glenn”

From the 1992 General Election in Dublin Central, a leaflet “Dublin’s Hardest Working Councillor – Christy Burke, Sinn Fein”. Burke who had been elected to the council in 1985, polled 1,362 votes, a drop from his 1989 performance. This was possibly down to the redrawing of the constituency which is shown on the back of the leaflet. Burke left Sinn Fein a few days after being reelected to the City Council in 2009.

From the 1989 General Election a leaflet from John Stafford, who was running for Fianna Fail in Dublin Central. Stafford is one of the Stafford Funeral Directors family and the address given on the leafolet is that of the Funeral Directors. In this 1989 election he held his seat, which he initially won in 1987. On the mock ballot paper at the back of the leaflet you may notice that Geraldine Harney, RTE presenter and sister of Mary Harney, was running for the PDs.
In the leaflet we have a message from Charles Haughey as well as one from Stafford himself.

From the 2007 General Election a leaflet for Sinn Fein candidate Mary Lou McDonald who was running in Dublin Central. Elected an MEP for Dublin in 2004, she failed to win a seat here polling 3,182 votes. In 2011 she was elected in Dublin Central.

From (I think) 2006 a Leaflet from Sinn Fein “Save Temple Street Hospital”. The Leaflet is asking about Fianna Fails commitment to keeping the proposed new Children’s Hospital on the Northside.

From the 2007 General Election a leaflet from Fine Gael candidate in Dublin Central Paschal Donohoe with the title “Paschal Donohoe … On Health”. He polled 3,302 votes and missed out on a seat.
From the 2007 General Election Campaign a leaflet and broadcast from Fathers Rights – Responsibility Party (FRR) candidate Alan Beirne who was running in Dublin Central.
Beirne polled 116 votes.
Many thanks to the sender.
The Fathers Rights and Responsibility Party Broadcast 2007
From the 2007 General Election a leaflet from the late Tony Gregory running in Dublin Central. He is pictured on the reverse with President Mary McAleese.
He polled 4,649 votes and in this his last election, he was elected comfortably

From the 2011 General Election Campaign, a “Sorry I missed you today” flyer from Mary Lou McDonald and Local Sinn Fein Councillor Séamas McGrattan. Much of McDonalds leaflets had endorsements from local Sinn Fein figures.
