From the 1992 General Election campaign , an ad from Fianna Fail attacking Labour and Fine Gael over their plans to increase Property Tax and other things too.
£1,200 as indicated in the cheque was a fairly hefty sum in 1992.
First off many thanks to the sender. A letter from People Before Profit Dun Laoghaire TD Richard Boyd Barrett concerning the People Before Profit national meeting on Sunday 14th October in Cassidys hotel.
In 2004 Bertie Ahern proclaimed himself to be a Socialist. This leaflet from the Socialist Workers Party refers to that with “Bertie says he is a socialist…. Get the Real Thing! ” .
From the 1937 General Election Campaign and the 1937 Referendum on a new Constitution (both held on the same day) a Statement by Communist Party Secretariat outlining the party’s position on both issues.
From 2012 a “Votes @ 16” leaflet from Labour Youth looking for the voting age to be reduced to 16.

Something highly unusual here, a leaflet for an Irishman, Finghín Kelly, who is running in the Local Elections in Brussels.
“I am the 10th candidate on the Gauches Communes list in Saint Gilles. Saint Gilles is a commune in Brussels.
Gauches Communes is standing in 4 Communes in Brussels. It was initiated by 3 parties, Parti Socialiste de Lutte (sister party of the Irish SP), Parti Humaniste and Comité pour une Autre Politique. It also has many left independents and trade union activists. Also on the list in St Gilles is myself, member of the Irish Socialist Party and a member of the Greek party SYRIZA.”

A lovely bit of history that a kind reader sent on (many thanks). From April 1966 a set of Easter Rising 1916 Commemorative Stamps to mark the 50th anniversary of the rising.
There are stamps for P.H. Pearse, James Connolly, Thomas Clarke, Eamonn Ceannt, Sean Mac Diarmada, Joseph Plunkett and Thomas Mac Donagh with profiles of each in Irish and English. There are also details of the stamps themselves.

From the 2011 General Election a letter to constituents from Fine Gael candidate James Reilly running in Dublin North. Reilly topped the poll with 10,178 votes and was elected on the first count.

From the 2009 Local Elections a leaflet from People Before Profit candidate Sean Moraghan who was running for a seat on Tralee Town Council. Moraghan polled 127 votes and failed to win a seat.

From the 1981 General Election in Cavan Monaghan, a sad notice to electorate concerning the passing of Fine Gael candidate Mona Hobans mother. The notice mentions that the candidate “will not be in a position to visit as many areas as possible”.
Hoban, a County Cavan based Councillor polled 1,741 votes.
From 2005 a 2 page document “Action on Health: Mary Harney’s 10 Point Plan for Accident and Emergency”.
