Leaflet from John Stafford -Fianna Fail -1989 General Election -Dublin Central November 17, 2011
From the 1989 General Election a leaflet from John Stafford, who was running for Fianna Fail in Dublin Central. Stafford is one of the Stafford Funeral Directors family and the address given on the leafolet is that of the Funeral Directors. In this 1989 election he held his seat, which he initially won in 1987. On the mock ballot paper at the back of the leaflet you may notice that Geraldine Harney, RTE presenter and sister of Mary Harney, was running for the PDs.
In the leaflet we have a message from Charles Haughey as well as one from Stafford himself.

Mary Davis Litir um Thogchán October 19, 2011
The Litir um Thogchán from Independent Presidential candidate Mary Davis delivered to both voters in my house. Note too the QR code on the front, I don’t think Gay Mitchell, Martin McGuinness or Michael D Higgins used one of them.
Note the blurb about trying to send just one campaign leaflet to each house.
If I recall correctly , the last time this happened for me was the 1989 European Elections where Proinsias De Rossa sent a single leaflet addressed to the ‘family’ as opposed to each voter in the house.

Interestingly enough, there is nothing in the leaflet about Fine Gaels performance in government.

Mortgage Pressures

Protecting the Vulnerable
We have to restore the economy and protect the most vulnerable as we do so. Thats why I will oppose Government proposals to introduce extra income tax increases and to cut welfare and pensions in December’s budget.”Supporting our Schools
