The context of “Meath Wants No More Migrants!!” was the foundation of the Gaeltacht at Rathcairn and the influx of Irish Speakers from Connemara.

From the 2011 Dublin West By Election a leaflet from Fine GAel candidate Councillor Eithne Loftus. Note how she is standing in the “Bye-Election” , Fianna Fails David McGuinness uses the same spelling whilst Sinn Feins Paul Donnelly and Ruth Coppinger of the Socialist Party both use ‘By-Election’.
Interestingly enough, there is nothing in the leaflet about Fine Gaels performance in government.

From the 1985 Local elections, an unusual flyer from Fine Gaels Noel McDonagh who was running for a seat in Tramore. Unless you knew the candidate, it would be a difficult enough crossword.
Noel McDonagh polled 371 votes and failed to win a seat.

From our first Presidential Election in 1945 an ad for Fine Gael candidate General Sean MacEoin. MacEoin polled 335,539 votes in a contest won by Fianna Fails Sean T O’Kelly.
A veteran of the War of Independence, the Longford native was first elected to the Dail in 1929.

The exhibition shows a series of Cumann na nGaedheal posters and fliers mainly taken from the 1932 general election. The exhibition was covered recently in the Irish Independent

“No Land Annuities Till November 1934” a Cumann na nGaedheal ad from the 1933 General Election. It was the partys last General Election before the merger with the National Centre Party and the National Guard in September 1933 to form Fine Gael.
