From the 1977 General Election a leaflet for Fianna Fail Carlow Kilkenny candidates Jim Gibbons, Liam Aylward, Tom Nolan, Paddy Carpenter and Mick Lanigan. Despite fielding five candidate in a five seater Fianna Fail won three seats with Tom Nolan, Jim Gibbons and Liam Aylward all elected. We also have a message from Jack Lynch to voters and an outline of Fianna Fails 1977 General Election policies.

Its quite interesting in that it is very Rebulican in tone and illustrates efforts to get Irish America involved in the Northern Question as well as helping Ireland economically. John Keating from Trinity is running for policy officer at the Ogra Fianna Fail National Conference . John is a grand-nephew of former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating.
John’s slogan “Keating is leading” is a nod to his uncle’s famous “Leadership” slogan of 1993.
