From the 2009 Dublin South By-Election a leaflet from Sinn Fein candidate Shaun Tracey. Tracey who had previously run in 2007 polled 1,705 votes in a contest won by Fine Gaels George Lee.
“Fine Gael Says Hold Fast To P.R.” Vote No – 1959 Referendum on the Voting System.
From the 1959 Referendum on the Voting System, where Fianna Fail proposed first past the post , one seat constituencies, “Fine Gael Says Hold Fast To P.R.”. Fine Gael outlines why we should hold on to our system of P.R.
The Referendum was defeated with 51.79% voting No and 48.21% voting Yes.
1992 leaflet from Ivor Callely, Sean Haughey, John Stafford- Fianna Fail -Dublin North Central January 6, 2013
From the 1992 General Election a leaflet from Fianna Fail Dublin North Central candidates Ivor Callely, Sean Haughey and John Stafford. Callely and Haughey were elected whilst sitting TD John Stafford had switched from the revised Dublin Central and lost his seat.
Sean Haughey had run twice previously in neighbouring Dublin North East but had failed to win a seat. In this election his father Charlie Haughey retired and Sean stood in his old stomping ground of Dublin North Central.

From the 1967 Local Elections a poster for Fianna Fail Wicklow Michael Cullen, Edward Hynes, Roger Miley and Basil Phelan. I dont have the results but as far as I know both Michael Cullen and Basil Phelan were elected. Roger Miley was elected in 1974 to the Council.
Basil Phelan later stood for Fianna Fail in the 1969 and 1973 General Elections but failed to win a seat on each occasion.

With what looks like a Fine Gael Halo a 2002 Seanad Election Leaflet from Frances Fitzgerald who was running for a seat on the Administrative Panel. She missed out on a seat.

Nice piece this from the 1943 General Election, “Put An End To Poverty” ..”Vote Labour”. Interestingly it provides Guarantees for Farmers, Workers, Cottage Tenants, Town Tenants and to The Nation.
The Guarantee to The Nation includes “a saving of 7,000,000 a year in bank interests, payments to financiers ….”

Liam Cosgrave , Henry Dockrell -Fine Gael – 1948 General Election- Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown January 2, 2013
From the 1948 General Election two ads for Fine Gael Dun Laoghaire and Rathdown candidates Liam Cosgrave and Henry M. Dockrell. Liam Cosgrave polled 7,521 votes whilst Henry Dockrell polled 5,133 votes and lost his seat.
Both candidates came from significant political dynasties. Liam Cosgrave being son of WT Cosgrave and father of former TD Liam Cosgrave jnr.
The Dockrell dynasty provided various TDs and Councillors until 2004.

From the 2005 Meath By Election, “McEntee For Meath” a flyer from the late Shane McEntee who was running for Fine Gael in the by-election. In this his first electoral contest, the former Meath Minor Manager topped the poll with 16,964 votes and was elected on the fourth count. He held the seat in 2007 and again in 2011. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

From the 1945 Presidential Election -“McCartan for President” December 19, 2012
From the 1945 Presidential Election an ad for Independent candidate Patrick McCartan “McCartan for President”. He polled 212,834 votes (19.59%) in a contest won by Sean T O’Kelly.
McCartan a former TD and later founder member of of Clann na Poblachta , he also had a spell in the Seanad.

From the 2011 Assembly elections and Local Elections an SDLP Leaflet for Conall McDevitt and Alasdair McDonnell who were running for the Assembly in Belfast South. The leaflet is also for Balmoral Local Election candidates Claire Hanna, Bernie Kelly and Niall Kelly.
The Leaflet also calls for a yes vote in the AV referendum held that day.

This one mentions not cutting Child Benefit, Keeping teachers in schools (pupil teacher ratio has since gone up in some schools I gather), affordable health care (A €70 charge for Chemotherapy for those non medical card or medical insurance holders … with debt collectors collecting it!) and more.

From the 1992 General Election a leaflet for Independent Pro-Life candidate Richard Greene who was running in Dublin South. Greene who had been elected to the County Council for the Green Party, left because of their policy on Abortion. Among other groups, he has since been involved in a party called Muintir na hEireann, The Christian Solidarity Party and Coir.
He polled 1,671 votes here and failed to win a seat.
