The Fianna Fáil Policy Guide Spring 2012.
The areas covered are Fianna Fáil Achievements 1997-2011 , Policy Positions , Bills Introduced By Fianna Fáil in Opposition and Fine Gael & Labour’s Broken Promises.
In his introduction Micheál Martin writes….
A fundamental element of Fianna Fáil’s renewal will be based on the quality of the solutions we offer. The challenges our country faces will not be overcome with false promises, media spin, or populist slogans. They will only be overcome by credible policies that offer real solutions for the people of Ireland.

From the 1991 Local Elections in Bray an anti Shane Ross leaflet that was distributed by dissafected Fine Gael members in Bray. (In over 2,500 posts this is the first time I’ve actually redacted a leaflet, such are the scurrilous nature of the accusations made about Shane Ross in the leaflet.)
The candidacy of Ross caused a split in Fine Gael in North Wicklow leading to a number of former Fine Gael members (and Councillors) standing as Independent “Voice of Wicklow” candidates. In the end despite the dirty tricks campaign Ross was elected having polled 642 votes. He stood again for Fine Gael in the 1992 General Election but failed to win a seat.
From the 1987 Referendum on the Single European Act an leaflet from a group called Christian Civil Rights urging a No Vote.
“Say No! To Bog Evictions” a Leaflet from Turf Cutters and Contractors Association in affiliation with the Kildare Turf Cutters Association. The leaflet outlines their arguments against the proposed ban on Turf Cutting on various bogs around the country.

Two recent posters from Wexford Sinn Fein used at various demonstrations around the County.
Many thanks to the sender.
From Autumn 1996 “Ireland Can Work – Action Plan For Jobs” from the Progressive Democrats. Its 32 pages long and aside from the cover I’ve also included the Summary page which outlines the problem and solution. In 1996 the Progressive Democrats were in Opposition and there were 230,000 people out of work.

A CND leaflet produced after the Cuban missile crisis. It argues that “Britain is to America what Cuba was to Russia: an advance missile base”.
