The Spring/Summer 2013 edition of the Fianna Fail Members magazine ‘Cuisle’. (All editions to date are here) There’s quite a bit of interest in it, including an article by Cllr Cathal Crowe on his collection of old political memorabilia. The cover of the magazine caused some controversy and was a topic on Joe Duffys Liveline.

From the Autumn 2005 edition of the Fianna Fail paper ‘The Nation’ a transcript of a speech given by then Taoiseach Bertie Ahern to the Fianna Fail Parliamentary Party meeting in Cavan on September 5th 2005. The headline of “Fianna Fail Will Never Take Risks With The Economy” particularly caught my eye. You may notice too that the statement was made at Sean Quinn’s Slieve Russel Hotel.

The flyer gives details of Advice centres, his availability and that even if hes not present that he will ‘Personally deal with the query later’. For groups or organisations there were invites to make ‘Special Arrangements’ to meet him in St Lukes.

A 1965 Fianna Fail document giving a report of that years Ard Fheis. Presumably sent to party members after the event.
The document contains some very interesting motions and of course names.

“Fianna Fáil states that it will uphold the right of the Irish people, and the Irish people alone, to decide on Ireland’s abortion laws. Fianna Fáil will oppose moves to legalise abortion in Ireland,”

“One Nation” -1959 Fianna Fail Pamphlet of a Speech by Sean Lemass to the Oxford Union Society. April 19, 2013
From 1959 “One Nation” a pamphlet issued by Fianna Fail of a speech delivered by An Taoiseach, Mr. Sean Lemass, T.D., at a meeting of the Oxford Union Society on October 15th 1959.
Its is in these pages that the famous Lemass quote comes from.
“It is, indeed, the simple truth that Ireland is one nation, in its history, in its geography and in its people, entitled to have its essential unity expressed in its political institutions.”
