Easter Rising Centenary leaflet from Seán Haughey -Fianna Fail -Dublin Bay North #ge16 January 25, 2016

An impressive Easter Rising Centenary leaflet from Seán Haughey who is running for Fianna Fail in Dublin Bay North.
The leaflet contains a fascinating account of the activities of Seán Lemass during Easter week 1916. Seán Lemass being the grandfather of Seán Haughey. Aptly enough the leaflet also contains a section “Was your family involved in the events of 1916”.
The Fianna Fail 1916 Centenary site
The State 1916 Centenary site
Many thanks to the sender.

“Easter Week 1916” from the April 1936 edition of “The Labour Monthly” reflecting on the 20th Anniversary of the Easter Rising. March 26, 2015

From The April 1936 edition of “The Labour Monthly” (a magazine associated with The Communist Party of Great Britain) an article reflecting on the 20th Anniversary of  the Easter Rising. The article “Easter Week 1916” was written by Pat Devine (Info on him here). As it is a good few pages long I’ve scanned and uploaded it in pdf.   Click Here for “Easter Week 1916” or on the image to launch it in pdf.

From 1966 a fully filled “Laois Republican Commeration Committee” Easter draw card July 16, 2010

From 1966 a Laois Republican Commemoration Committee Easter Draw card (I assume its a misspelling of commemoration).
The sender notes
Its a fully filled out Republican Easter draw card from 1966 – not sure if someone ever dropped it in for the draw or just made off with money – it was probably someone from Newbridge (or Droichead Nua) as thats where all the addresses are from.

Note that some of the names and addresses are Army men from The Curragh Camp and of course some are care of ‘The Liffey Bar’ in Newbridge.
