From the 1991 Local Elections a flyer for Fine Gael candidates Aine Elliot and John Dockrell running in Blackrock. John Dockrell held on to his seat whilst Aine Elliot lost hers.
John Dockrell is the son of former TD Percy Dockrell, grandson of former TD Henry Morgan Dockrell, great grandson of Sir Maurice Dockrell a former Unionist MP. He is also brother of former councillor William Dockrell.

From the 1991 Local Elections a leaflet from Labour candidate Niamh Bhreathnach running in the Blackrock Ward where she was elected.
The focus of the leaflet is on Environmental issues such as Booterstown Marsh.
It was at this time that ‘Environmental Issues started taking a bigger role in election leaflets , in part to do with the potential rise in the Green Party vote.

From the 2004 local elections a newsletter, ‘South Central News’, from Fine Gael Crumlin Kimmage candidates Anne Marie Martin and Ruairi McGinley. Issues covered include Crime, housing and a message from Gay Mitchell.
Anne Marie Martin was elected, she later resigned her seat and Ruairi McGinley was co opted to replace her.
Jim Allen -Democratic Left -1992 General Election Dublin South East November 10, 2010
From the 1992 General Election a leaflet for Democratic Left candidate Jim Allen running in Dublin South East. Allen polled 874 votes. A year earlier he had polled 1113 votes (outpolling amongst others, Mary Hanafin and Maurice Manning) when running for The Workers Party in Rathmines.
Paul Donnelly -Sinn Fein -Mulhuddart 2009 LE November 9, 2010
From the 2009 Local Elections a leaflet for Sinn Fein candidate Paul Donnelly running in Mulhuddart. Donnelly who had been co-opted to replace Felix Gallagher (who himself had been co-opted to replace Martin Christie) polled 1517 votes and narrowly missed out on winning a seat. He had previously stood in 1999 and also in the 1998 DUblin North by-Election.

Mary Rachel Brophy would be best known for her founding of ‘Festina Lente‘ which uses Horses and horticulture to provide “a range of training, occupational, learning and employment opportunities for people whose needs are not being met in mainstream services”.
William Dockrell has an impressive political pedigree. He is the son of former TD Percy Dockrell, grandson of former TD Henry Morgan Dockrell, great grandson of Sir Maurice Dockrell a former Unionist MP. He is also brother of former councillor John H. Dockrell.

From March 2007 a newsletter from the then Minister for Children Brian Lenihan. The subject of the newsletter is Health and the advances in facilities in Dublin West.
These days it’s unusual to see him so delighted with spending money on anything.

From the 2009 Local Elections a letter to voters from Green Party Candidate Tony McDermott running in the Crumlin Kimmage Ward. The Harolds Cross based McDermott had been elected to South Dublin County Council in 2004 for the Terenure Rathfarnham LEA. Amongst other reasons, Boundary changes meant he stood for Dublin City Council in 2009. He failed to win a seat.

From the 1992 General Election a leaflet from the then Democratic Left TD Eamon Gilmore running in Dun Laoghaire.
Some lovely slogans in ‘One of The Best‘ and ‘Make Sure Vote Gilmore‘.
We get details of how much Gilmore speaks in the Dail. The Leaflet also mentions that Gilmore ‘began the organisation of the first Peace Train‘.
(I had my doubts but here he is at the First Peace Train.)
We learn too that “He helped lead the campaign to reform his old party, and was one of the first to leave to form Democratic Left” (Should read to form New Agenda which became Democratic Left).
Gilmore was elected easily having polled 7,045 votes.
Letter re Development at Weston Aerodrome from Peter Brady -Fine Gael -2004 Local Elections Lucan
From the 2004 Local Elections a letter to voters regarding possible development at Weston Aerodrome in Lucan from Fine Gael Lucan candidate Peter Brady. The letter also mentions a planned protest on June 11th that year. Brady , a former councillor, failed to win a seat despite polling 1,370 votes.
