From the 2011 Seanad Election a leaflet from Labour candidate John Gilroy who was running for a seat on the Cultural and Educational Panel. The Cork based Gilroy, who narrowly missed out on a seat in the General Election, topped the poll and was elected.

A booklet “Travel Safely -A guide for people travelling abroad” from Fine Gael Senator Maurice Cummins. It was given out to Councillors and contains all sorts of advice for those travelling abroad…
From the 2011 Seanad Elections a leaflet from Bill Tormey of Fine Gael who was running for a seat on the Cultural and Educational panel. In the leaflet we learn that he is the only Fine Gael public rep for vast areas of Dublin North West and that he is a health campaigner. There is no mention of Reform or Seanad abolition. Instead it also focuses on his loyalty to Fine Gael (He stood in a number of elections for Labour and a number also as an Independent before finding his home in Fine Gael).

From a 1992 General Election Leaflet from Progressive Democrat Michael McDowell where he is committed to amongst other things.. ‘Abolish The Senate’. I’ve also included a piece from one of his 1987 leaflets where ‘Terminate the Senate’ is mentioned.
From the 2007 Seanad election a leaflet for Fianna Fail senator Francis O’Brien who was running for a seat on the Agricultural Panel. The Monaghan based O’Brien was elected.
He has been in the news recently “after appearing in court on a charge of demanding €100,000 with menaces.“
With what looks like a Fine Gael Halo a 2002 Seanad Election Leaflet from Frances Fitzgerald who was running for a seat on the Administrative Panel. She missed out on a seat.
From the 2007 NUI Seanad Elections a leaflet for Wicklow based Independent candidate Susan Philips. Philips, a former Councillor polled 706 votes and she missed out on a seat.

From the 1987 Seanad Election for the NUI panel a leaflet from then Professor of Irish History at UCC, John A Murphy. First elected to the Seanad in 1977 he lost his seat in 1983 and regained it in this 1987 election and held it until his retirement in 1993.
From the 1981 Seanad election a leaflet for Independent candidate Gemma Hussey who was running for a seat on the NUI panel. She had won a seat in the 1977 Seanad Elections and held her seat here. She subsequently sat on the Fine Gael bench in the Seanad and was elected to the Dail in February 1982.
In the 1982 to 1987 coalition government, she served as Minister for Social Welfare and Minister for Education as well as a brief spell as Minister for Labour.
She retired from politics in 1989.
