Despite fielding five candidate in a five seater Fianna Fail won three seats with Tom Nolan, Jim Gibbons and Liam Aylward all elected. We also have a message from Jack Lynch to voters and an outline of Fianna Fails 1977 General Election policies.

From the 1954 General Election a leaflet showing the price rises under Fianna Fail since the Inter Party Government left office in 1951. Two of the three Fine Gael candidates in Carlow Kilkenny were elected. Patrick Crotty and Joseph Hughes. Thomas Fielding failed to win a seat. Result here
