Noel Davern passed away recently, I never met him, but he was one of the politicians who over the years took time to feed my habit. Not all politicians or parties are so kind.
I found this today as I was going through some boxes and sorting out leaflets, so thought it apt to post it.

Leaflet for Sylvester Barrett, Gene Fitzgerald, Noel Davern -Fianna Fail -1984 European Elections -Munster July 28, 2012


From the 1984 European Elections a leaflet from Fianna Fail candidates Sylvester Barrett, Gene Fitzgerald and Noel Davern. In a geographically spread ticket the Clare based Barrett and Cork based former Minister for Finance Fitzgerald were both elected, whilst the Tipperary based outgoing MEP Davern lost his seat.

“Greyhound Supporters -Remember Your Friends -They Need Your Votes” -from the 1989 and 1992 General Elections January 4, 2012


From the 1989 and 1992 General Elections , ads sponsored by Seamus Mulvaney urging Greyhound Supporters to remember their Friends when they voted.
Amongst the friends were Brian Cowen, Frank Fahey, Michael O’Kennedy and Ned O’Keefe. Indeed all the friends listed were Fianna Fail TDs or Ministers.

Noel Davern , Martin Mansergh – Fianna Fail -Tipperary South 2002 General Election June 21, 2010


From the 2002 General Election a leaflet for Fianna Fail candidates Noel Davern and Martin Mansergh running in Tipperary South.
Noel Davern was elected. Martin Mansergh failed to win a seat but was elected in 2007.
A detailed biography of both candidates as well as a long message from Bertie and some local achievements.
Manserghs time in the Public Sector is quite interesting.
