A lovely letter to electors from Labour TD for Kerry South Michael Moynihan saying that he wont be sending each voter “a voluminous amount of  election literature.” I think its from the 1987 General Election where Moynihan lost his seat. I may be biased but maybe the lack of election literature was a factor!

“Brendan Corish The Man for Ireland” Leaflet from Michael Moynihan 1966 Kerry South By-Election June 8, 2012

From the 1966 Kerry South By-Election a leaflet from Labour Party candidate Michael Moynihan. The by-election was caused by the death of Fianna Fail TD Honor Crowley. The by-election was won by John O’Leary who held the seat until his retirement in 1997. Michael Moynihan polled 4,849 votes. (result here)
On the “Brendan Corish The Man for Ireland” side of the leaflet he mentions how “Munster -with its Land and Labour Leagues was the cradle of the Labour Movement in this country”.
