Something unusual here that may be of interest. A leaflet from the Belgian Centrist Party CDH entirely done as a comic book. Although Cartoons regularly feature in Irish Election material I’ve only once seen a comic strip which was in A Sinn Fein leaflet.
Many thanks to the sender who notes

“It’s from the recent elections here. I particularly like the two candidates holding shields fighting against privatisation.”

Leaflet in English and French from Finghín Kelly -Gauches Communes list in Saint Gilles, Brussells October 18, 2012

Last week I posted a leaflet in French for Finghín Kelly an Irishman who was a candidate on the Gauches Communes list in Saint Gilles. Saint Gilles is a commune in Brussels.
Amongst other material produced was this leaflet in English on one side and French on the other.
The Election took place on the 14th of October 2012 and “The list I stood on , ‘Gauches Communes’ got 3.65% of the vote (639 votes) which was just short of winning a seat.”
The results are available here
Many thanks to the sender.

Leaflet from Finghín Kelly- Gauches Communes list in Saint Gilles- Brussels October 7, 2012

Something highly unusual here, a leaflet for an Irishman, Finghín Kelly, who is running in the Local Elections in Brussels.

“I am the 10th candidate on the Gauches Communes list in Saint Gilles. Saint Gilles is a commune in Brussels.

Gauches Communes is standing in 4 Communes in Brussels. It was initiated by 3 parties, Parti Socialiste de Lutte (sister party of the Irish SP), Parti Humaniste and Comité pour une Autre Politique. It also has many left independents and trade union activists. Also on the list in St Gilles is myself, member of the Irish Socialist Party and a member of the Greek party SYRIZA.”

Leaflets are produced also in Flemish.
Many thanks for sending this on and best of luck in the election.
The election will take place on 14 October 2012.
