Dominic Hannigan -Labour Party -2005 Meath By-Election May 20, 2010

From the 2005 Meath by Election a flyer for Labour candidate Dominic Hannigan. Hannigan polled 5567 votes and failed to win the seat.
There were high hopes of winning a seat in the New Meath East constituency in 2007, however he just missed out on the final seat to Fianna Fails Thomas Byrne.
He was elected to the Seanad in 2007.
At a time a lot of Independent candidates are joining Labour, its interesting to note that Hannigan was originally elected to Meath County Council as an Independent before later joining the Labour Party.
