Changes to PSO Levy from October 1, 2013
    25 September 2013

The Commission for Energy Regulation has announced that the Public Service Obligation (PSO) Levy, which applies to all electricity customers, will increase from 1 October 2013 to €3.57 (excl. VAT) per month for all domestic electricity customers.

The PSO Levy is a charge relating to the costs of purchasing peat generated electricity and the output of renewable, sustainable or alternative forms of energy purchased under various Government schemes. All electricity suppliers are obliged by government to make these purchases in the interests of security of supply and environmental protection.

Find out more about the PSO Levy €3.50 per month 2 months per bill = €7.00 vat 13.5% = €8.15 per bill = €48.90 per year just on that
